Are you planning to have a bespoke dress made, or to order one from a bridal shop?

Depending on the designer and shop, some dresses from bridal shops can take 9 months to come in. The longest i've heard is 12months. If you allow 9 you should be fine, but do check with your bridal shop as I know some can rush through orders. Don't rely on this though.

If you're going for something bespoke, again that'll be something that varies according to who you commission and how busy they are/whether they stock the fabrics required etc.

It's one of those how long is piece of string things unfortunately Smiley sad

Keep in mind that dresses can be altered though, so even if you order in a larger size, unless you loose a huge amount of weight the dress can be altered and still maintain it's shape ?

To give you an idea, my Maggie Sottero dress was ordered from a bridal shop in January and they said it would arrive in June. It actually came in May so it took 5 months.

I think it very much depends on the designer and the dress.

The shop i got my dress from said they normally order 9 months in advance, but this is so the designers/ producers can try and get a couple of orders of the same dress so they then do a "run" of them making it cheaper (for the producer), I think this may be why some come in more quickly than the set time, because they had enough orders to do the run sooner.

My dress was ordered in feb last year and came in, in March this year so it took just over a year to make but I think it depends on the designer and also the dress type! It may be best to speak to the bridal shop when your trying them on.
