How long is double glazing normally guaranteed for?

I think our DG is faulty - the seal seems to have gone on a few panes and we are getting misty patches. It was installed by a local company a few months before we bought the house in 2002 - we have the receipt for the works but no mention of a guarantee. I'm hoping it is covered for 10 yrs but am thinking if I ring up and ask they are just going to deny it, aren't they? So, how would you approach it?

Pretty sure it should be 10-15 years but not sure how you would know without asking them

you would hope in the current climate they would go with good customer service rather than try and fob you off and it may be a simple repair job for them

Quite often, even though you're told to get the paperwork for window guarantees - the warranty isn't transferable to new owners so is worthless. I only learnt this when i worked in the industry. I'm in the same position, we start getting quotes next week.

I think the company may not excel in customer service to be polite so am not convinced about the goodwill thing. I'd also heard about that too, legless. Is there anywhere I can find out more about transferring warranties to new owners?
