How long to have hen party before wedding

Sarah, 26 of August of 2023 at 11:11 Posted on Planning 1 2
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of having my hen party next summer around 12 months before my wedding as my sister is also getting married shortly after our date and I don't want to overshadow her plans.
But thinking of a smaller get together, pizza party & pamper night with a smaller group or meal out nearer the time.Has anyone else done this?

12 months seems like a very long time. Could you speak to your sister to find out around what date she wouldn't mind you having your hen-do. Is a joint hen do an option? You are such a considerate and kind sister for thinking of her during your own planning. X

If your sister is getting married after you then I say you are entitled to have your hen do first. However, 12 months before your wedding, just to avoid a clash with her plans, seems a little much. Can you ask her if she has set a date for her hen party yet? If not, then you can agree to keep the other sister informed when you agree a date so the 2nd sister can plan around it.
