How much on average should a reasonable videographer cost?

I am having to choose a vog and don't want to spend £1000's so please can you tell me what price bracket I should be looking at. I chose a cheaper tog but really want a modern video so know it may cost more.

    I got three sample DVDs ranging from £495-995 from VOGs. Suggest you get a few sample DVDs to help you decide what you like.

    I got a few sample DVDs and tbh the cheaper ones tended to have bad sound quality so I went for the slightly more expensive one!

    Getting/watching a sample will definitely help you choose.

    Well if it's down to samples my mind is made up as I have seen a mixed bag. I think I have a clear winner in mind.

    Ours cost £600 and was brilliant. He def uncharges himself. He was there from 1pm until 10pm and we got 4 copies of the DVD. He was really modern and everyone has commented on how much they liked our DVD. He had done a couple of our friends weddings as well so we knew it was of high quality.

    I agree some of the samples I saw were terrible! One of them didnt even work!

    Mine is costing £645 and there is no time limit on that - I found that some of them have a set number of hours they will film for their fee and if they go over charge £X per hour.
