How shall I send business card size save the date magnets in the post?

*Pugsley*, 27 January, 2013 at 12:49 Posted on Planning 0 17

Hi

My save the dates are business card sized magnets I bought from Vistaprint on one of their freebie offers. We're really happy with how they've turned out as they were a design we uploaded ourselves ?.

My issue now is how do we send them? As they are small I'm worried they'll get lost in the post (if the post office will accept them at all), I also don't like the idea of putting them in a larger envelope and having them flap about in there.

I can't just stick them on a piece of card as the back is magnetic and that would ruin the magnet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We aren't going to be sending them for a couple of months so this does give us time for any DIY suggestions people may come up with.

Thanks!

I have been sending mine out for the last week or so. I put them in envelopes (just small ones) and send them 2nd class. All of them have arrived safely.

We bought ivory pearlised cards and envelopes in the same size for our save the date magnets (also business card size magnets from vistaprint). We did hand deliver quite a few of ours but the ones we posted all arrived no problem Smiley smile

Envelopes and post it I'd say! Do you have spare magnets in case any do go missing? The whole lost in the post thing isn't as common as people think, I sent and receive a lot of post and in my whole life only had one or two things go missing (and usually because it's international)

Haha, my friend who lives in Singapore got hers before two of my friends who live down the same road in central London! Royal Mail are bizarre.

To the OP, you could put them in bigger envelopes and put them on card...cut some slits in the card and slot the magnets in. Et voila!

If you put the ones in your basket but don't buy (make sure you've registered) they'll soon send you emails with offers in. Mine were free and just under £3 for postage each time.

I'm glad everyone has been able to send theirs ok, I do have spare ones just incase. Might have a look to see how presentable I can make them on card though as I quite like that idea too.

You can get small envelope that size that florists use for their message cards on bunches of flowers, check eBay and just put in dimensions of envelope you need. Otherwise the idea of putting them on card is a great one, doing slits at two diagonal corners and slotting them on would work well, then you could put them in a more standard size envelope. Would still be same price to post.

When designing a business card size layout, it’s essential to balance aesthetics with functionality, ensuring that all key details fit neatly within the compact dimensions. Business cards typically measure 3.5 x 2 inches, making them convenient for networking and easy to carry. They serve as a quick reference for contact information and branding, leaving a lasting impression on potential clients. Additionally, businesses often seek financial support to expand their operations, and Eboost Partners explains if business loans are tax-deductible , helping entrepreneurs understand how to maximize their financial benefits while maintaining smooth operations.

I actually had the same question when mailing small custom cards last year. I recommend using sturdy envelopes with a thin cardboard insert to avoid bending. By the way, while prepping invites, I took short breaks on realmoneyslotscasino.com — surprisingly relaxing between all the planning!

Sending out something personal like save-the-date magnets really shows how much presentation matters, and I see a similar thing in digital marketing. When I wanted my products to stand out online, I turned to google merchant center and it worked better than I expected. The setup gave me a clean way to manage product data and connect directly with ads. I liked how straightforward it was, and the results felt solid. Honestly, I was satisfied and glad I used that resource.

I’ve sent similar save-the-date magnets before, and a simple rigid mailer or padded envelope worked really well to keep them from bending or sticking to other items in transit. Adding a small backing card helps too. Presentation matters just as much as protection something I picked up while browsing design ideas like Beach House Meets Mountain Retreat , its all about thoughtful details that make a lasting impression.

Sending business card-sized magnets in the post can definitely get tricky if they shift around or stick to the sorting machinery. I found that attaching them to a slightly thicker cardstock insert using removable glue dots keeps them perfectly centered inside the envelope.

Business card sized magnets are usually fine in the post as long as they're inside an envelope, so I wouldn't worry too much about them getting lost. One option is to use a matching small card sleeve or folded card insert and place the magnet inside that before putting it into the envelope. It keeps everything neat, stops the magnet moving around, and gives a slightly more finished look when guests open it.

A friend did something similar with save-the-date magnets and used a piece of folded pearlised card with a slit cut into it so the magnet sat securely without sticking permanently to anything. Everything arrived without any issues.

The Studio of Possible often highlights the importance of presentation as well as design, and a simple insert card can make a small item feel much more substantial without adding much cost. If you're not posting them for a few months, it could be a nice little DIY project that keeps the magnets protected and looking professional.
