How soon do I buy wedding insurance?

Doris 5/10, 9 August, 2011 at 08:18 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi

What the title says really. I get married in may 2013 and was wondering when to buy wedding insurance?

I have only booked the venue but thats it.

Also which company?

As soon as (or before) you book anything. You never know at what point a supplier may go under etc. so it's better to have your insurance in place.

    Hope that helps,

Insurance usually lasts for 2 years, the paperwork will ask for the date. But I'd get it sorted sooner rather than later.

There are dozens of different companies - you'll have to do some research. But prices are typically £40-100 depending on level and amount of cover.

As soon as you can, but our insurance wouldn't let us book it until 2 years before the wedding.

We got insurance as soon as the first major cost went out - our venue deposit.

From memory when I booked mine you had to have a date booked, therefore you had to have booked your venue or church. We got ours once we had booked the venue - we went with http://www.ecclesiastical.com/

I booked mine as soon as my venue was confirmed as my insurance needed to know where the wedding and reception was going to be happening
