How Soon Is Too Soon?

If you are sure your wishes aren't going to change, then there is no point in delaying. You don't want to find that your favourite florist or caterer is unavailable on your chosen day! Just make sure if you do get all the major things planned early, that you don't start over-complicating. I know a few people who have planned their wedding months in advance, got bored with nothing to do and turned to Pinterest...and then come up with a load more things they 'need' for their wedding! But if you have the self control to plan and then park the wedding, go for it!

We got engaged in July 2022 and are getting married in October 2023. By September 2022 we had booked the venue, sorted food, sent out invites, ordered the cake and booked the florist, decorators, DJ, make up, hair, photographer and registrar. I have my dress and we need to get the bridesmaid dresses and groomsman outfits.


We wanted to be as prepared as possible and just get it booked in, we both get quite busy with work and it made sense to book it whilst we had the time. It’s all down the preference.

In my opinion, it's never too early to start booking and planning! We booked a lot of suppliers super early, and it's saved us a lot of stressing and last minute running around. We've actually managed to have a few months off from wedding planning because mostly everything is sorted everyone has their own timeline but it's worth noting some suppliers, especially photographers, get booked up super early in advance
