How to keep Cake Toppers

MrsHertfordshire , 4 September, 2014 at 21:44 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi everyone,

We are having sugar moulded cake toppers me, my OH and our beloved jack russell

We want to keep them for as long as possible as a keeps sake - is there any cake spray or anything we can use to help make them last?

Many thanks in advance

xx

A company called jellybrations started following me on twitter when I started following loads of wedding type pages, lol, they preserve sugar icing - worth a look?

I understand the idea of wanting to keep them as long as possible... but I'd just make sure that you had a really good picture of it, if it was me I'd just be sad when I finally decided it wasn't worth keeping so would prefer to not put myself through it - haha

If they are made with sugar paste (rather than just fondant) they will last well if you keep the dust off and the humidity low. My mum has the flowers off my christening cake over 45 years ago and they still look perfect. I'd check with your supplier exactly what they are using.
