i don’t know what to do!

Lau, 4 January, 2021 at 11:55 Posted on Planning 0 2
So I got engaged 6 years ago and after 2 cancellations due to family reasons we are now booked in for July 2022! Now, I am pretty much planning on my own, I was speaking with a close friend about all the excitement of planning but I don’t want to keep putting it on them that I need them to help me.. so I am solo.. I have literally booked the wedding venue, I’m not all up for a massive wedding or a huge after party, just sometime simple but beautiful.. any suggestions?

Just a thought but you are not getting married to yourself. Get your fiance to help planning its his wedding too....many men are not into the whole wedding thing but if you give him tasks (like find catering) then he should be just as capable as you to do that.... split the things that need organised and there you go, half the work gone.

It's only recently that weddings have turned into these huge all-day events. Weddings I attended as a child were usually short ceremonies followed by a nice meal and the whole thing was over in 4-5 hours. So make your wedding as simple as you want!

People talk so much about 'memorable' entertainment, favours, decor etc, but the things I remember most about weddings I've attended were the happiness of the bride and groom and time spent talking to other people. Plus a general impression of the venue. So keep it simple - a nice meal in a lovely location is all you really need post-ceremony. And the main focus of the ceremony is the promises you are making to your OH - that is why people are coming, to support you in this important moment.
