I don't own a pair of Jeans - am I alone in this?

KJX, 21 December, 2008 at 22:53 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 24

As per the title. I do not own a pair of jeans - don't like them, feel like I am always 'overflowing' them when I try them on - am I alone?

I have over twenty pears, maybe I have your quota?

My mum finds jeans really uncomfortable too.

Mine are all different styles, some more comfortable than others.

I've cut down on the number of jeans I own as I can't wear them to work anymore. But I've always found them to be more flattering than trousers for me.

When my H moved in with me I had to give up my second wardrobe (which was entirely devoted to shoes and jeans) so he had space for his stuff...And that was very traumatic for me!

WSS. I used to live in them when I could wear them to work. Now I only own 2 pairs, and one are black skinny jeans.

I bought two pairs this year but, previous to that, hadn't owned any for years.

I bought a pair this year, after not owning any for many years. I can't do the low slung ones, and ones that comeover the belly made me look like an apple on legs-nice!
But I found a pair on Simply Be that are really nice. I still find the waistband uncomfortable though.

I don't own any jeans either. Actually, I don't own any trousers apart from for the gym. I must be the ultimate girly girl.

Just because I was born a man doesn't make me any less girly now, you know ?

I live in mine - I put them on without even thinking. Although, thinking about it now, I can't think what I'd put on instead of jeans! I mean, when I go out I might where a dress or a pair of smart tailored trousers but for everyday walking the dog/ housework/shopping - nothing else seems suitable.

Change "when I could wear them to work" to "when I was a student" and this is me. Sadly I've never been able to wear them to work. I used to have over ten pairs and lived in them. I still wear jeans constantly when I'm not working or going out somewhere posh, and will wear my black skinny jeans with heels and a nice top to go out for a meal/to a party etc..

I do actually own a pair but never wear them. I get lulled into thinking that if only I get the right pair then I'll live in them like other people seem to be but they are just so uncomfortable for me and really not flattering on me.

They're not the most comfortable item of clothing for lounging in. I would struggle to find something to wear if I was, say, going to go out to the shops or to the pub. Everything else I wear is either smart - business or evening clothes, or too casual - track suit type things with paint on them.

I have lots of pairs of jeans, but usually end up wearing only a couple of pairs as once they've been worn a bit more the material gets softer. At the moment I only have one as they're maternity wear and I couldn't see the point in buying more. I have to wear my yoga trousers when they're in the wash!

I love jeans and love the look on other women - but I have huge thighs and a tiny waist so think that unless I wear them with a long top they don't do much for me figure wise. I have a few pairs from when the whole 'boyfit' jeans was in but they did make me look massive, comfortable though but there was really no way of dressing them up.

I have a pair on now from gap that are boot cut but typically they are too tight on the thigh and too loose on the waist - I give up!

I don't own a pair of jeans either. I wore them as a teenager but not any more. No idea why, really. I suppose if I had a pair they would be just for weekends, whereas my other clothes can generally be worn at work too. I wear either black/grey trousers or skirts (mostly skirts actually, I think they look better on me).

It's also a climate thing - apart from about three months of the year, it is either boiling hot or there are two feet of snow on the ground. Neither an ideal scenario for jeans-wearing.

I wear combat style trousers for casual and generally wear a knee length skirt with boots for smarter in the winter.

In the summer I wear a lot of cropped trousers, both combat style and smarter.

I have to wear smart for work, so at weekends and 'dress down Friday' I love to wear jeans and am always buying new pairs, it's one of the items that I will spend lots of money on to get a nice fit. In fact I am gutted that having lost a lot of weight recently my 7 For All Mankind jeans are now so loose I cant wear them. Ah well, sales here I come!

I live in jeans or cords outside of work - black trousers and skirts / dresses are just too 'work-like' for me to feel relaxed in.
