i feel like no one is excited about our wedding

Happyyellowcakes15704, 2 of October of 2020 at 21:35 Posted on Planning 0 2
My fiancé proposed end of August this year. He's 38 and I'm 31 and we have been together 6 years this September.

I was in shock at first but now I'm excited and we are planning venues. Our friends and family were very excited about the news but since then we have had nothing. Most of our friends are married and have children. A lot have said they think we should do something small when they had big weddings. My future MIL hasn't even called or messaged to congratulation us. Everyone we see mentions their own wedding and is not engaged in conversations about ours.
Has anyone else felt like this?

Not trying to sound harsh but maybe they’re just not that excited. It’s your day, not theirs. Just concentrate on you and your partner. People get married all the time, and, to others it’s just not that big a deal. Don’t push any of your loved ones away because of it.

    Thanks you're right.
I think eloping would be best. Just about us. We've been together too long for all the big day fuss etc.
