I have a packet of the best crisps in the world!

KJX, 20 November, 2008 at 13:46 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 33

OK, corn snacks if I want to be accurate!

http://www.retailbrands.co.uk/our-brands/ellert/peanut-puffs.html

I used to love these when my dad was based in Germany. I used to live off crisps like this and Black Cat liquorice for my entire school holidays.

Noooo, Baked ruffles are the best crisps in the world. I'm not really a crisp person but I could eat a whole bag of those (the bag is MASSIVE)

Yum. My mate used to bring back Erdnuss Flips every time she went to Germany... under pain of death. Peanut-flavoured 'Wotsits' rule. ?

Oh dear. You shouldn't have told me that. I don't venture down the crisps aisle often so could have lived on in blissful ignorance for months. ?

I think that you'll find that the nicest crisps are actually bacon frazzles

We bought some peanut puff style snack in Portugal...if I say that even the birds wouldn't eat them, does that give you a hint to what we thought!

    Bring back tomato flavoured wotsits!!!

The best crisps in the world have to be Branningans Salt and Vinegar.

    No you are all wrong!

The best crisps in the world ever are these South African cheesy Niknaks. No other crisps in the world are as cheesy or make your fingers go as orange as these babies do!

    Oh I want!

Teso you say? Are they in the normal crisp aisle or with the "ethnic foodstuffs"? Ours has a Polish food section so I wondered if they might be near that...

I loved these as a kid - grew up in Germany on an army base. I miss proper Bratwurst ?

Look, some of those are blatantly snack foods and not actual crisps (baked? Bah, not a crisp).

As everyone knows, there are two equally good crisps in the world:

    Tayto Cheese & Onion

    Tyrrells Mature Cheddar

I think you'll find that settles the matter.

There are some crisps downstairs called Darlings .. something. They're proper crisps and have flavours like mature cheddar and leek, sour cream with a hint of paprika and fire roasted jalepenos. I've yet to try them but they sound good.

They were selling Currywurst in Brighton the other day. They were devine. Not convinced that the chap who served me was as german as he was making out - there was a distinct air of Herr Flick about his accent - although I could be wrong.

Tayto crisps are the best crisps in the world. Proper Norn Iron Taytos though, not cheapo Oirsish ones, despite what the Hole tells you.

I hear from MrA that old skool Monster Munch are back. Apparently in the original format - proper flavours (beef or pickled onion) and the "correct" size. It's the Wispa effect* apparently.

*Yes, he did actually say that.

I am a complete and utter crisp-a-holic (couldn't care less for chocolate!)

Beef Monster Munch (I am loving the 80's packs!)
Spicy Tomato Snaps (Oh my, I LOVE these..)

I vaguely remember puff pigs (can't remember what they were called but they were puffed up pigs - used to get them from the market along with a bag of rainbow sprinkle chocs and a bag of extra strong mints!)

They are cheesier and onionier. The factory is a bit like Wonka only better - it's even got a castle (I think they brew the flavours in the dungeon). In fact, I think they run tours as well - you should go ?

<stern> Baron, I do live here you know ?. Of course I know there's a Tayto castle. Where Mr Tayto lives. MrA once went there for a work jolly. ?

I haven't been as it would involve going to Tandragee.
