i might be being dim but deep heat and similar products

Sparkling, 26 March, 2009 at 12:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I have a bad neck so there fore i do admittedly smell a bit of deep heat.

However i have never given this a second thought before that it might actually cause someone to have to go home because it might cause them to have an asthma attack.

Given i live with a baby with very delicate lungs i never would knowingly use something that would cause harm to someone's breathing. In fact i checked with the respiratory consultant that it was okay to use around Eleanor.

Now are they being dramatic or have i genuinely missed something really really important here. I feel a bit bad at the moment but i never knew deep heat would cause so many problems.

please can anyone shed any light on this one?

People can have allergic / asthmatic reactions to just about anything, so it is perfectly plausible.

FWIW, deep heat, along with nail polish remover, some perfumes, some animal dander and household dust used to trigger my asthma.

I think the moral of the story is not to apply any strong smelling substance to your body in public. Just common courtesy.

If your neck is painful, get an ice pack, or one of those heated wheat bags.

    What P*P said.

FWIW, deep heat doens't give me asthma but it does make me naueous. I'd have to leave an office if I could smell it.

I've also walked out of rooms because of strong perfume.

Thanks sorry i haven't got back to you i thought it was best that i left the office after my meeting and have finally got home.

I won't do it again. i just didn't even think about it as my usual office are a fairly sporty bunch and there's always a whiff of something in the air.

It's now on my list of not to do just before i leave the house.

My neck still feels terrible though.
