I really hate snot.

*Ducky*, 28 February, 2012 at 12:40 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 24

This isn't a question. I'm just moaning. And I know I am being unreasonable for moaning about a natural bodily function.

H2B has a cold, he has loads of snot. Snotty nose, snotty cough etc. He doesn't feel ill, he is just bunged-up and snotty. Last night he was after some bedroom action, and I outright said 'No I can't kiss you when your snot will run all over my face, I really don't like snot. And if I can't kiss you, and you keep sniffling like that I can't get in the mood.'

He looked really hurt. Maybe I did snap a bit, but I was already wound up from the hours or sniffing, sneezing, coughing and nose-blowing (which I hadn't complained about). Now I feel a bit bad today. But still can't bring myself to 'make it up to him' tonight unless he has miraculously de-snotted.

Anyone else dislike snot as much as me? Any top tips for getting rid of the sniff/snot?

When I was 20 I went clubbing one night. Had been dancing for ages, went for a sit down and there was a big, snotty grob all down my trousers (not mine may I add). I still heave thinking about it. ?

Snot is horrible. If I'm all snotty the thought of getting it on with someone is so far from my mind but the thought of someone snotting all over me is grim.

Bet there's some niche snot porn out there though.

Just throwing that out there for you.

Once you have babies you will be covered in snot (and sick) for about 3 years!

There is a lad in our production dept who's nickname is Snotty! For obvious reasons. Anyway I got told the other day that he laughed that hard a string of snot shot out from his nose and after an almight sniff the string of snot shot back up his nostril - ? I did see the funny side though.

Claire - that just made me gag a little bit with a mouth full of muller light. Luckily I controlled it and swallowed.

Snot on babies doesn't gross me out, but I can't cope with it on older kids and adults.

Once an ex was sidling up to me for a bit of action and I noticed he had a massive bogey hanging out his nose. I had to tell him, I didn't want it attaching itself to my face and god forbid he think it was mine. He was mortified and it kind of killed the mood when I fell about laughing

I'm led to believe it's even less of an issue when it is your own baby.

Someone told me this too. I hope so because I gag almost continuously when I change my god-daughter and open all the windows for a breeze to stop me feeling so sick!

Surely this is a given? I can't imagine ANYONE like snot. (Regardless of what Cricks gets up to in her own time - otherwise how would she know about snot-sites??)

I feel a bit sick now.

I dislike snot, especially after teaching Kindergarten. I once saw a kid sneeze, without covering his mouth, and a massive string of snot fire out and then land back in his mouth...which he swallowed happily ?

    Hate nose pickers too!

I'm so glad I am not alone on the sleep in the eye thing - I can't look at OH if he has it, it really makes me feel ill. As for snot, I also can't stand it. My OH is always sniffing after he has sneezed and won't blow his nose until I throw the tissues at him. I try to refrain and be patient but I snap. Just blow your nose! We did once, in the very early days of our relationship, have some with both of us with snotty colds - I have never heard so much sniffing in all my life and I will never partake in such an activity again!

    Bought and sniffed!

It's working so far. He sniffed it, then had a massive nose blow after 5 minutes or so. Then decided to sniff again as he had blown it all out?! But I haven't heard him sniff/snort/sneeze for 20 minutes!

This! My OH is such a f*cking baby when he's ill. Drives me insane. He can't possibly take a deadly paracetamol either, oh no, he'd much rather mope and whine around the house looking for sympathy. Yes you might have guessed, he's ill right now and getting on my last nerve, seriously!!
