Ideas for Small Wedding

Bubblybride, 2 March, 2021 at 19:29 Posted on Planning 1 4
Hi, we postponed our wedding from August last year to May 2021. Keeping everything crossed for 30 people. It's hard to know what we'll be able to do but our venue is advising we should plan for an early finish 6pm/7pm.

I just wondered if anyone had any good ideas what we could do to entertain our guests for a bit during the day & even a fun suggestion for a small group in the evening? I'm concerned that people will get bored with not many people to talk too.
Any tips from other brides planning to get married would be greatly appreciated

Do you have to finish at 6/7pm or can you shift everything later? We too are having a small wedding, and I was concerned that not having an evening disco would mean that everything would finish early and we'd be left with a really anti-climactic end to our wedding day where everyone just goes home. So we've planned everything to happen a bit later than usual - our ceremony is at 3pm, followed by a drinks reception with some entertainment, then the wedding breakfast won't even start until 6pm-ish, so will run through til 8.30/9ish with the speeches too. Once everyone has another drink or two in the bar afterwards, and we cut the cake, maybe have a first dance too then this will bring us to the end of the night nicely. Still undecided whether to have any kind of official 'entertainment' after the meal, but not going to worry too much as there won't be lots of time to fill.

That's a good idea to start later and condense things if possible. A classical string quartet is nice and surprisingly cheap way to have some entertainment while people are milling around before the sitting at table part.

You don't have to worry so much, I've been to a lot of small weddings and it's very cozy and nice. it's just the people you know and everyone knows each other. They won't be bored. I think the musical style so far.
