Ideas for where to get ready before wedding

Lucy, 22 June, 2021 at 10:59 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi I was hoping I could ask for some ideas. I am getting married next June 2022 about 45 minutes away from where I live. We have had to postpone twice and I forgot to change with the registrar enough in advance so we are now getting married at 3:30pm rather than 1:30pm. We have paid hotel rooms for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding already but it isn't the right sort of venue to have photos in and they are also having a wedding there themselves during the day. So I want to find somewhere else to go and get ready with my bridesmaids and have some photos beforehand so we aren't rushing after the ceremony and before the wedding meal.

My photographer has suggested a beauty business round the corner from the venue (as the venue doesn't have any space to get ready) but I have my hair and make up artist already booked so don't think they would accept taking them with me to get ready there? Also it is a Friday so i would assume i would need to book out the whole shop?

I have also looked at other hotels/cottages but I would only need the space from about 8am-3pm and with check in and out times It is likely I would need to pay for two nights I won't need? I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions I haven't thought of yet?

Thank you,

    Hey,

We have booked an air b&b near our venue for the night before and the wedding night.

It was actually really reasonable especially if you divide it by the amount of people who will be staying.

I will be staying at the air b&b with my parents & bridesmaids the night before and then we will all take our stuff and then on the wedding night, my parents and other guests are staying for the 2nd night so it didnt go to waste!

Could someone else use the hotel room you have booked and pay you for it (assuming you can’t cancel) and you book an air bnb.

We had an air bnb with some lovely beams and views and it was a lovely space for photos
