Ideas please - gift/gesture from chief bridesmaid to bride?

Puddled, 22 August, 2008 at 09:51 Posted on Planning 0 7

I am a chief bridesmaid on Sunday and want to get her something extra. We had a lovely hen weekend and I spent a lot on that so dont want to spend a fortune. They have asked for money as a gift but I want to get her something extra - a bit personal from me to her.

Any ideas or any past experience anyone could give me would be great

Thanks xxxx

Not sure if a bit ?, but when one of my best friends got married and i was BM i got her an anniversary book - it's a book that you fill in firstly about the wedding, then each year after with significant events that year, what you did etc. and places for photos. I just thought it would be a nice thing to look back on, and something that she could keep forever.

Is there anything that means a lot to the two of you - for example, a holiday you've been on, a hobby you both do, a film you both like? you could get her something linked to that (if it's a holiday, a framed picture of one of the places you went and so on...).

I got mine from t'internet i think! a website called two little boys. But I have seen them in some 'specialist' gift shops and also John Lewis if there's one near you? There are a couple of similar ones out there...

Do you have a really nice picture of the two of you - you could get that put in an engraved frame?

I don't know if you are into charm bracelets and that sort of thing but there are charm beads called "Pandora" and I am addicted - A website called beadazzle or beadazzled (not sure) has the full range.

Pandora do a silver charm wedding cake that would be perfect! Silver charms are about £20 i think. Also lots of beautiful Murano glass charms. If she hasn't got any, it would be nice to get her started. I hope someone buys it for me!!!

    Hope that helps

I am having my dress made for me and my mum has bought me a framed picture of the dressmaker's sketches and swatches of fabric from my dress. I haven't got it yet, but have seen samples of similar in the shop and they looked lovely. It might be a bit pricey tho.
