If unopened bacon is brown, does that mean it's gone off?

I've always avoided it in the supermarket, but mr tesco has delivered two packs today. I don't know whether it's just got exposed to the air at some point or is actually bad. I wouldn't normally choose it, but am wondering if it's just a cosmetic thing.

Anyone know? I'm debating whether to complain and don't want to look ridiculous/waste my time if it's not important.

I'm not sure if it's ok but I wouldn't eat it and I'd complain too.

Not necessarily - might just be oxidised which is normal and safe.

Ahh, that's kind of where I was going with the air thing I think. I'm being a bit more careful than I would normally as am pg.

Right, I might get H to eat the dodgy stuff, and I'll buy some more just in case.

    Thanks both!

I wouldn't eat meat that had started to change colour as I would assume this would mean it had started to turn. Definitely complain, they'll refund you without any question (well they did when I rang up but they had delivered about 3 packs of meat all out of date and unusable - I also got a £10 voucher for my trouble).
