If you are a busty bride, flash me your dress!

50's pin up bride, 24 October, 2011 at 09:32 Posted on Planning 0 17

I am blessed (ha!) with big boobs, and am a curvy lady generally (34/36 E/F). I had chosen my dress online (it's a pattern I've worn quite a bit before) and it's strapless. Yesterday at a wedding fayre I was chatting to a lady selling dresses and picked out a lovely strapless tea-length dress, and she said she would never advise anyone over a C-cup going strapless as you tend to the the 'milkmaid' spillage look!! In my paranoia I've raked through various photos of me in strapless tops and don't have the milkmaid look at any point, but it did make me wonder about dress choices.

So, ladies of a larger bust, I would really appreciate a dress flash, preferably with you wearing it!

Hi i am a big busted bride and have chosen a strapless dress to wear, i was very consious about getting a dress as i did not want spillage or to feel like i was on show. i am a 32 -34gg and had a breat reduction 2 years ago i know people say they would love big boobs i hate mine, as feel people tend to look at my boobs rather than my face when talking to them. the dress i chosen is benjamin roberts blue enzoani calistoga A. i tried to find a picture on internet to show you but can only find a calistoga. will attach a link so you can see it. the difference is that the calistoga A has a straight neckline. i found this suited me best.

Thank you ladies, that really helps. I already own a really lovely ivory corset (steel-boned) which I was intending on wearing on the wear (assuming they work together - if not, I'd probably look for another corset or so as suggested above and get a seamstress to create one within my dress). As the dress I like is a lace-up corset style back, it wouldn't give me loads of support (not without lacing it up tight, which is more likely to cause spillage!) so underwear is key I think!

It's really useful seeing your pics though - reassures me that I can still look tasteful and classy with a strapless dress and big boobs!

    Hi,

I have gone for a dress with straps. I do feel comfy in it and supported but it was not a deal breaker for me. Some strapless dresses, are higher up than other, so some I felt very secure in and not too much on show. This is the dress I have gone with,

I very nearly opted for this one

My advice, would be to try them on!

I am also a 34e and size 10 and agree that a strapless can work if it has the right boning structure.

This is a close up of my dress.

This is one of my biggest fears. I'm a 34F and always planned to buy a dress with straps. But then I fell in love with a strapless one. Problem is, the sample wasn't in my size so I don't really know how it's going to sit and won't until January. Terrifying.

Cheers Flora - yes that's right. That's what the lady in the dress shop said too so have my fingers crossed! That's made me feel a bit better though!

Promise I'll flash in the new year when it arrives.

Ooh Kharv, I tried 'your' dress on today and from a milkmaid POV it was totally fine!

In fact, I tried on 4 dresses today and all were strapless. One was a bit milkmaidy but I think that was mainly because the woman winched me in with a laced bodice AND it was 2 sizes too small (limited sizes within each sample) but the rest were fine.

I didn't like any (for me) though... too fussy and I couldn't have accessorised ANY of them with my gorgeous new bright red shoes!! It has reassured me about strapless dresses though, together with your experiences.

30GG and HATE dress shopping even wedding dress shopping. Gone for a dress (had to get a 14 then taken in 3/4 sizes) with straps and having lace added to the neckline as I am not having my knockers on show.
