If you have ever broken your nose..

Was the swelling bad and did you need surgery afterwards?

After my accident with the car boot falling down and hitting me on the nose this morning a trip to A&E has comfrimed I have broken my nose in two places one just below the bridge and the second below that.I am in agony and the pain killers arent touching it at all.The very nice doctor told me I am going to wake up with two great shinners tomorrow morning.I have job interviews next week so I am praying it will go down by then. Also the really vain part of me is worried about having a awful shaped nose now.

Oh my god! When you said boot, this morning, I thought you meant a walking boot! (Kind of falling off a shelf, if that makes sense?)

Ouch, the thought if that has made my eyes water.

Sorry, I have no experience, but have a hug. ?

I almost broke my nose when I was about 14 (accidentally ran into a wall - at least I got out of school sports day ?)

My nose was pretty swollen for about a week, but luckily it didn't go wonky, although OH still thinks I have a big honk!

Hope your nose gets better soon x

I wish it was just a walking boot as the pain is unreal. The springs(or what ever it is that keeps the boot up) have gone on the car so it goes up but then will fall suddenly. However I had no idea of this as it was a replacement car for mine whilst it is been fixed after an accident.I called the company who it is from and told them what had happened and the woman on the phone said that the car was known to have this fault.Yet for some reason no one told me about this que me breaking my nose.

    ?

OMG - I'm recovering from the exact same thing at the moment also with a courtesy car (not a vw fox was it?)

Mine got broken 3.5 weeks ago but only in 1 place. I had stitches for 2 weeks and the black eyes are more or less gone (I know theyre there, ayone else would just think i look knackered). I have a lovely scar across my nose for my troubles too.

Glad I had my sunglasses on as I think they spread the load a little and made the break a clean one.

Also recovering from a broken nose. I broke mine about six weeks ago, I passed out and landed on my face. Most of the swelling has gone, I can tell it's still swollen but most people can't. It's also very pink where I cut it and it still hurts so I can't even cover it with make up ? Mine is an odd shape and I have a lump, I doubt very much I'll have it fixed though I'll just put it down to Character.

Mine really hurt for about two weeks and gets better each week. It's only sore if I touch it in a certain place now. I was very lucky and hardly got black eyes. I started to take Arnica as soon as it happened and I think that really helped.

    Ouch! You have my sympathy!
