If you live in a flat or have problems drying washing...

Lili Donkey, 21 October, 2008 at 20:37 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

...I know it looks absolutely ridiculous but you NEED one of these;

Forget the Ped Egg, the Dri Buddi is what you need ?

I know I'm very sad and get very excited about all manner of pointless household gadgets and that I have an unhealthy obsession with shopping channels - often spending hours 5 minutes drooling over the rubbish on Ideal World / QCV and the JML website but (other than the Ped Egg) I've never actually bought anything but this has changed my life ?

Honestly it's fab - since it arrived yesterday I've managed to get 3 loads washed and dried whereas I can usually only get 1 load done every other day at this time of year - it's taking roughly 48 hours for clothes to dry on our indoor airer but with this they are dry in 3 hours ? [show off] In fact I managed to wash my cardigan over night and stuck it in the Dri Buddi straight from the machine this morning and within an hour it was ready to wear [/show off]...before you say it no I couldn't have put the cardi in the tumble dryer as it would have shrunk.

You literally hang your washing inside it, turn it on and it circulates hot air inside the bag drying the washing in no time. I've decided I MUST get a job with JML, the thought of playing with their products all day long

We definitely need one of those but we're far too skint at the moment. Does it use loads of electricity?

Us too but I managed to get it half price through a friend of a friend who works for JML (he is about to become my new best friend ?) but having used it I'd pay £60 for one.

It reckons it uses 35% of the electricity of a tumble dryer but then it also says it's "whisper quiet" and I beg to differ...

Still, our tumble dryer struggles to dry a load in 2 hours and this manages it - everything has come out pretty much wrinkle free too.

I sound like I work for JML already ?

? and here I was all smug that I'd finally got my tumble dryer today.

I clearly need one of those so that I can do all my washing at once. How big is it when it's full? How much does it cost?

I reckon we would pay 60 quid but we don't physically have it. The electricity usage doesn't sound too bad, we rarely use our tumble dryer because the electricity usage is ridiculous.

    Maybe next month!

    Thanks for posting btw.

I only use the tumble dryer for towels or bedding and everything else is hung on the radiators. Mind you, the heating is only on for between 3-6am and 8-10pm so it takes a bit of juggling.

But to be honest, if the heating is on anyway, I'd rather hang stuff on them than put on an electric device even though it looks clever and I like the idea of 18 items dry and wrinkle-free (especially shirts!) ?

I only use the tumble dryer for bedding, towels and our lounge around the flat wear - it's proper clothes I just cannot dry...

Our rads aren't the kind you can hang clothes over - they are, as is everthing here, electric and I reckon they cost more to run that the Dri Buddi.

I'd love 'proper' radiators - it's one of the downfalls of living in the middle of a field - the gas connection missed us out. If we walk a few minutes up the road, either side of our 'block' you can see where the gas starts and ends!

It is pretty Keef, how can you say it's fugly [:'(]

It all comes apart - it's the wonder of JML...and goes back into it's quite small box. I reckon if I take it apart I can squeeze it in the utility cupboard beside the washing machine minus the motor bit which could sit on top of the dryer. TBH I haven't thought that far ahead which is a bit stupid seeing as we have zero storage space here hence not being able to dry washing very well in the first place!
