Ikea Pax bedroom

Specialkat, 19 September, 2008 at 13:31 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Has anyone used Ikea Pax for their bedroom furniture? If you go with the measurements do they have staff who can help you choose what you can have and costs?

Have you downloaded the Pax planner?

    It's really good and helpful.

I don't have any pax furniture but when I've been there, there are always staff around to help.

I have them in my dressing room and we just took the measurements for the room (there are two different heights you can have so you need to know the max) and then planned out what we'd actually like to have. We have them down both sides of the room so 10 units in total and they are divided into hanging space, drawers, shelves and two laundry baskets.

I love them, they keep everything neat. We don't have doors on them as we've taken over the whole room so it seemed silly but they do get dusty so I have to clean them a lot. I'd suggest starting with the basics and adding in any of the options later on. It's too easy to get carried away with the gadgety items when really they are a waste of money.

No wouldn't have been mine you saw. Although I do store my handbags in one. I steared away from the shoe things etc and instead all my shoes and bags are in the white cardboard boxes and labelled http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90115469 , makes it look a lot tidier.

We have this, we designed it from the website, ordered the stuff and got our friend to install it.

    IT IS GREAT!

We have four x double wardrobes all down one side of the room. We don't have too many of the gizmos and gadgets, just different height shelves and clothes rails depending on coats, dresses, suit jackets etc., but the two things I do have which I ❤️LOVE❤️ are the pull out shoes racks and the pull out sectioned drawer - fantastic.

We've got them and absolutely love them. One tip I have for you is that both myself and FIL (who is a carpenter) measured the space we had, taking in to account the skirting board. According to the measurements there should have been a 5cm gap but we only just managed to fit the final cupboard in.

Another handy hint is to put the doors on before you do the interior. We didn't because the doors were out of stock and then had to move shelves & drawers around because the hinges needed to go where they were. Was a tad annoying.
