I'm confused - can you help on civil ceremony promises

MrsJewkes2B, 17 July, 2008 at 20:21 Posted on Planning 0 1

We're just looking at our promises for our civil ceremony and I'm being either blond or confused?!?

Do we need to have promises each or is it one promise we both say?

I feel that I should know this but I don't can anyone help?

Thanks

The sheet our registrar filled in with the details of our ceremony had seperate spaces for bride's promise and groom's promise so I think you could have different ones or you could both have the same. And I've actually just remembered that I read the promises another hitcher and her husband had written and they were different, though both the same style so fit together well, IYSWIM.

We wrote our own vows for a non religous wedding, and whilst we said the same things, we read them individually to each other.... not sure if that helps!
