Inspiration needed for vegetarian hangover food

Spamboule, 18 July, 2008 at 20:04 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

My friend is coming to stay tomorrow night & has warned me that she will be hungover. I would like to make something fairly simple & easy to put together for us to eat. She is a vegetarian, so I need a bit of help.

What can I make that is good hangover food, but isn't a gert lump of meat?

Thanks ?

I adore veggie sausage sarnies with lashings of ketchup. Or scrambled eggs on toast, or a fried egg sarnie.... mmmm hungry

I second the quornburger - and add a slice of cheese and loads of ketchup.

What about cauliflower or macaroni cheese? Or you could always just go for a packet of salt and vinegar crisps and a king size Twix!! ?

Veggie lasagne and crusty garlic bread is also a firm favourite ?

Mmmm, there are some good suggestions here, thank you everyone.

I like the sound of macaroni cheese and veggie lasagne. Mind you, a fried egg sandwich souds pretty tasty too ?

quorn burgers are grim. For me it's either cheese on toast or a cheese & onion pasty with lashings of diet coke.

There again, if someone else was cooking I wouldn't care as they'd be doing the hard work ?

    Pizza?

I used to make a bean chilli and put it on nachos and top with cheese- not sure if its hangover food though really. Only ever had a hangover once in my life.

Hand her a bag of salad, and then grill some bacon and see if she turns.

I like both of these ideas. I'm not going to have a hangover as I'm staying in tonight, so I'd be up for a full on meal rather than cheese & onion pastie. Mmmmm, home made pizza might be fun, then I could have my meat fix too!

    Thanks everyone ?
