    Hi Ryan

I have massive knuckles but quite slim fingers - so I need a ring that will go over the massive knuckles and then sit securely on my finger. Is there a way to get round this that is a bit more permanent and with less lose-in-the-bathroom-ability, and would I be better going to be seen by a jeweller than ordering?

Hi SunnyOrangeFlowers21, thanks for your question :-)

There are two options that can help to solve this problem, one is to have a wedding ring that is cut through so it can be opened and closed manually onto the back of the finger, there will just be a join at the back of the ring when closed. Alternatively we can add small metal beads inside the ring that will allow it to go over the knuckle but grab the skin at the back of the finger. We would recommend option 1 as it is much more comfortable and ensures a tighter fit on the finger. If you would like to try this kind of wedding ring we can make a silver model for you for just £20.

We look forward to hearing from you.

I can highly recommend the amazing Alba Rose as they made my wedding ring to match the band exactly to my ER. It's super simple but exactly what I wanted and the service and prices were awesome.

We went to Tanzania on our honeymoon and bought a tanzanite stone which we'll be getting Alba Rose to put into a ring for us soon 🙂

PS. I don't normally have henna on my hands, it's one of my oldest friend's Sikh ceremony tomorrow!

Do you work with seed pearls at all? I don't really want diamonds in my wedding ring and will probably have a plain or engraved 2mm band in palladium or platinum. I have been considering having some pearls in though. Is that something you would do or do you only work with gemstones?

Hi Bookish, thanks for your question,

We don't work with seed pearls no, they used to be used in antique jewellery but not in modern jewellery so often anymore because they are extremely fragile, and very easily broken. If you are looking for an alternative to diamonds in your wedding band, we do work with a variety of gemstones.

I also wanted to pop in and say that I would highly recommend Alba Rose.

I visited their Bluewater store a couple of weeks ago after viewing online and my rings arrived this morning.

OH and I are extremely pleased with both of them. The service in the store was fantastic too.

What would you suggest for a wedding ring to go with my engagement ring - its such a tall setting?? Please ignore the dirty ring - seriously needs a clean and re rhodium plating!!

Sorry if the picture is huge. I was thinking maybe something like this and getting it made to fit my engagement ring - but don't like the idea of having to send it off Smiley sad

Thanks, that sounds like an option! I have quite bad dermatitis on my ring finger so I just want to investigate further - could you possibly let me see what they look like in pictures before I make a decision?

    Hi Natalie B,

We wouldn't need to scan your engagement ring because the setting is tall and the bottom of the band is flat, so flat wedding rings will sit next to your engagement ring without needing any cut outs. Our A33082 design has square princess cut diamonds:

    http://www.albarose.com/product/a33082_51696

We would recommend 2.5mm for the width. Alternatively we can create any of the rings you like, but with princess cut diamonds in instead, as long as the diamonds are in a straight row.

Really? When I tried this one on at Goldsmiths and a few others they just didn't sit right at all - http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Canadian-Ice-0.50-total-carat-weight-princess-cut-diamond-eternity-ring-in-9-carat-white-gold/p/06501653/

I'm wondering about going for your bespoke design now so that I can get a wax sample to make 100% sure it sits properly with my ring??

Okay I see, it may be that the depth of the rings you have tried on are thicker than your engagement ring due to the diamonds in the band being princess cut.

Yes I think the best way forward for us to ensure a perfect fit with your rings is our Shaped Wedding ring service. We would take a 3D scan of your engagement ring and then using those precise measurements we can create a wedding ring, exact to your specification which fits exactly next to your engagement ring. And yes we can print a wax model of the final design and send to you so you can see exactly how it will fit.

I can completely understand you not liking the idea of sending your ring off, please be reassured we currently have 100 to 200 rings posted to us a month using our Royal Mail Special Delivery service and we have never had a problem. This is a secure service with the Royal Mail which is guaranteed to arrive with us the next day, I think Royal Mail can also offer you extra insurance you can pay for when sending too for added peace of mind. We text you the next morning as soon as it has arrived with us, we then 3D scan your ring and return it to you the same day, cleaned and polished as new and email you with the tracking number of the delivery. It will then arrive back with you the next morning so you are only without your ring for a few days.

Alternatively you can bring your ring into us at either our Bluewater or Rayleigh store, they can then securely send it onto us in the workshop, it then gets scanned and returned back to the store. Our workshop is also based in Essex, close to our Rayleigh store, so if you brought your ring to us at Rayleigh Mon-Fri then we can have your ring ready for you to collect just a few hours later. If you came to our Bluewater store then it will be ready for you to collect a few days later.

P.S Are you the same Natalie that emailed in through our website on Saturday afternoon at all? If so I have sent an email reply but it is showing as undelivered.

That sounds perfect. How do I go about starting the process. Are you charged for any changes to want to make once you get the first design or is it a one off fee.

If I'm not in when the ring gets sent back what happens, is it safe at the post office? Trying to think when best to send it. Unless I send it to come back to my work address bit would be worried if some else signs for it.

yep, it was me before I found this thread. Thank you so much for all the help

    Hi Natalie B,

To start the process we can send you a Shaped Wedding ring pack which will include all the packaging you need to safely send your ring to us, and there will be a form in there for you to let us know exactly how you would like the design, if you can put as much info as possible on that form it would be really helpful for our designers.

You are not charged at any stage until you confirm the final design, and then order it online to be manufactured. So the designing and the wax etc are all part of the service. The price you pay will just be for the final ring to be made. Within a few days of us scanning your ring you will receive your design over email, including images of how the two rings fit and look together, including the price for your design. If you have any diamonds in your design you can also change the colour and clarity of these and see the price update accordingly. From this design stage you can request any alterations to the design if needed, and once you are happy with a design we can also print a wax model and send that onto you. Then once you order the ring it takes 14 days for us to manufacture.

If you are not in when the ring gets sent back then the Royal Mail will put a card through your door so you can go and collect from your local sorting office, or arrange re-delivery.

It obviously depends on where you work and how you feel about it being delivered there, the Royal Mail do record all signatures if that is any help. But if you are not comfortable with it being delivered to work then we can send it back to your home address for delivery before 9am if that is better for you, normally it is before 1pm. Or alternatively we could return it to one of our stores if either of those are convenient for you, that way it can be stored in our safe and you can go in and collect whenever is suitable.

If you can please send me another email to ****@********.*** with your full address, and mobile number (we text you when your ring has arrived with us), I can then get a Shaped Pack sent out to you today.

    Hi Scully82,

Yes palladium is fine to wear with platinum, they have the same hardness so will not wear against each other and they have the same pure white finish. Palladium is a great alternative to platinum if you are on a budget.

Hi, I would like to use Alba Rose after hearing all the good things about you. I have a shaped enagement ring so a straight band looks very odd but I would like a Mobius Twist wedding ring as the shaped ones all come to a point which I don't want. I always thought I would have a plain band but it looks wrong with the ring. Also I am unsure what gold my ring is made form as it was a vintage ring so not from a traditional jeweller. Should I send it to you for you guys to look at? It is hallmarked but it's too small for me to see properly! Also if I need to send it how can I get pack you have been talking about I went onto your website but when I clicked on the request information it kept crashing. Thanks

Hi Rosco298, thank you for your enquiry :-)

Yes we will be able to create a twist ring that perfectly fits next to your engagement ring, using a 3D scan of your ring and designing a bespoke wedding ring to match in thickness and profile. And yes we will be able to see what gold your ring is made from too.

If you want to send me an email with an image of your engagement ring to ****@********.*** I can let you know a rough idea of prices and also explain how the design process works. If you can also let me know your full address and mobile number (we text you to let you know when your ring has arrived with us) I can get a Shaped pack sent out to you which will include all the packaging you need to safely send your ring to us.

Please could you also send me a link to the page that was crashing and what exactly you clicked on etc, I can then ask our web team to look into it to check if there are any problems.

    Thank you

I would just like to add a massive recommendation to this thread for my wedding ring.

I knew exactly what I wanted in my head, but with a budget of £600 I was struggling to find anything within budget, most rings I saw that matched what I wanted were £850+.

I contacted Alba Rose regarding their bespoke service, and was put in touch with Ryan. I sent him various photos of what I wanted, and after many emails, designs and wax casts, I now have my perfect ring within my budget and couldn't be happier.

Ryan kept me up to date and they worked hard to make the ring, my design had its challenges involved due to it being so thin but they perservered and now it is a reality.

I never thought I would find a platinum ring chocker full of diamonds within my price range and thought I would have to settle for something different. Anyone who has an idea but cannot find it within their price range, look no further than Alba Rose, who will amend different aspects of a ring idea to change the price for you. Our rings also qualified for 12 months interest free credit meaning we can pay for our rings per month and use our ring budget for the wedding elsewhere.

Thank you Ryan and Alba Rose from a very happy bride Smiley smile Smiley smile Smiley smile

Hi there, I'm looking for a 2/3 pave setting diamond wedding band, do you have anything in this setting? I have looked on the website but I'm unsure. I also like the look of your A36293 18ct, 0.80 2/3 2.5mm, is this similar? Thank you, Cassie.

    Hi Cass_b

Here is one of our diamond set bands with a pave setting, that is available in 2/3:

    http://www.albarose.com/product/Wedding-Rings_5/Diamond-Set_25/a31947_2662

And another pave setting ring but with diamonds around the whole band:

    http://www.albarose.com/product/Wedding-Rings_5/Diamond-Set_25/a30745_51768

The A36293 design is a claw setting as opposed to pave. If you have seen anything elsewhere you like the look of then feel free to email it to me at ****@********.*** and I can see if we have anything similar, or we could always create a bespoke band in the exact specification you want.

    Hello Ryan,

Do Alba Rose do engraved pattern rings?

I am looking for something like this in 9ct yellow gold ...

To go with my art deco style engagement ring...

    Hi Miss Pickle,

We don't do engraving unfortunately no, we can however create recessed patterns using CAD design, an example would be this one in our bespoke design database:

    http://www.albarose.com/product/Design-Database_157/Wedding-Rings_158/2/54455_54455

So we would be able to do it with this pattern, and it would be around £215 for a 3mm band in 9ct yellow gold.
