Invitations and Save the Dates

Catherine, 15 May, 2021 at 15:27 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi all!

How much have people roughly spent or allowed for save the dates and invitations?

We are planning to make our own save the dates using photos from an engagement shoot and print online.

Thanks

Cat

Hello, I have spent very little, i found a site on here actually called greetingsisland.com where you can download invites to print out yourself. I have photoshop which makes it a bit better still as you can move bits around more etc but then it's just the cost of paper, envelopes (which you can get for less than £15 altogether) and the most expensive part will be stamps! Worth a look for sure. Otherwise I think I was looking at around £65 just for the invites without envelopes or postage! Good luck

I used Vistaprint for our Save the Date cards, they have lovely templates of which you can upload photos etc and they are reasonable in cost if you want to keep the cost down. I hope this is helpful.

I’m using Etsy for both my invitations and save the dates. The have pre-made and downloadable/edit versions. I’m paying about £5 for the downloadable versions and they will email you a copy which you can play around with to your hearts content and either print them off at home or have them professionally printed. They will save us at least £150 doing it this way

We’re mostly sending out electronic save the dates and invites via our wedding website, it’s saving us a small fortune! The only guests receiving printed invites are the grandparents, my grandma doesn’t have internet so wouldn’t be able to access our website.

Free. We did save the dates via our wedding website and now following Boris announcement that step 4 may be delayed have decided to do our invites online too

We used Canva to make our invites using a free template which is easy to edit, and sent them via email with a link to our wedding website for details and to RSVP using an embedded google form. That was all completely free, but we'll spend about £10 printing a few out to send to Grandparents and to have some for ourselves and immediate family as keep sakes (it could probably be cheaper to print if we weren't just doing it through canva's printing service). Our wedding in this September so we wanted to make sure it was easy to update guests to any changes if things don't go to plan!

I got my save the dates from Zazzle - they had 40% 0ff so only cost £23 for 30 and I was really impressed with the quality - you can also order sample beforehand to make sure you are happy with them. My invites for day guests are from utterly printable and cost £40 for 30 and again could order a sample. My evening invitations I picked up in card factory they were on sale - pack of 25 for only 99p!
