iPod case/armband for the gym - any recommends?

Stupidgirl45, 5 January, 2009 at 13:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Pretty much as the thread title - I've got an ipod classic and want to use it at the gym.

Just wondered if any of you had any recommends for good holders/armbands for running etc?

Thanks

TBH I think you're best with a holder thing that clips to the waistband of your tights. I'vetried various different ones for running and they're al uncomfortable, plus it's really hard to change the settings on your iPod when it's on your arm and covered with a layer of plastic.

If you really want an arm thing I think the Nike ones are best, but they'fre designed for nanos - not sure if the Classic is the same size.

I haven't managed to find anything that holds the classic ipod securely whilst running. I had the neoprene armband but the ipod is too heavy and it just pulls down your arm.

Ditto with clipping it to the waistband of my trousers. Could have been v. embarassing! I solved the problem by buying a shuffle specifically for gym/running. It's fab and holds more than enough songs for a workout. Also it means I don't end up having something completely useless for running coming onto my ipod as the playlist is specifically for my shuffle.

I use an iPod Classic for running too. I found a great iPod armband made specifically for runners. It has a storage tube for your locker key, money, etc. It also has good cord management so you don't have excess cord trailing behind you. The product is the Arm Bandit from GrabitProducts.com. For you, it comes in pink too.

Sorry, I don't get this advertising thing. There seems to be one rule for some and another for others.

The OP asked for recs and was given a rec above so I don't see the problem.

That site has been mentioned on here several times too.

I don't think Bruperk actually made the product. I could be wrong, I often am ?

Crikey moses - that thing is huge! Surely that would weight your arm down even more? That's much bulkier than the one I had and that was too heavy.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Tempo-Armband-Classic-Compatible/dp/B000H46OD6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1232377048&sr=8-3

This is pretty similar to the one I have and even with it done up really, really tight it slips down.

She asked for it a few weeks ago and they have searched specifically on google for posts like this so they can advertise and joined to post so its a bit different IMO.

The advertising rule is that people who are advertising in the hitched directory are allowed to advertise in their signatures no one else should advertise as such.

I've got a Belkin Neoprene armband thing for my ipod touch, however I wore it last week and got cramp in my arm and shoulder and had to take it off, I've got one of those Nike + things that clips to your shoes and measures and times a work out for you with music.
