Is 12 too old for a Pageboy?

debs1701, 25 January, 2009 at 10:43 Posted on Planning 0 9

I have a little foster brother who will be 12 when I get married next year, we are very close, he has been part of my family since he was 6 1/2 months old and I want him to be a part of our Bridal party.

I never really thought about it before now but he will be turning 13 2 months after we get married.

Is there an age limit?, should I "upgrade" him to usher?...my plan was to have him was down the aisle with my flowergirl who will be 8.

Thanks for all your help/advice.

Personally I would have him as an usher because the 12/13 year olds I know (my daughter is nearly 13) would rather be part of the group of men. They are all quite grown up and tall, etc. I don't see any reason why he couldn't accompany the flowergirl though.

HTH and it is just what I would do.

Thanks ash, that's what I was thinking, I can still see him as the little babby he used to be, so hard to believe that he will be 13 next yr, could he still come down in the car with the BM's or does he need to go down with the groom?

I'd let him decide but I think either would be fine.

Moomin I don't feel bad now ?, I just didn't want people thinking I was mad/crazy for having a 12 yr old page boy, I thought there was a "cut off" point for them.

Thank you ?, are yu having your pageboys do anything special?

The 13 year old will be a page boy but he'll be standing with my brother who is an usher giving out the order of service cards! So he's sort of an assistant to the chief usher, he's taking his duties very seriously anyway ? as he's constantly asking about the wedding!!!! The 11 year old will be the ringbearer so he's got an important job too! I think it's just important to include them and make their role in the wedding seem special to them!

Moomin thanks for that, i think i might just let him travel with my mum and the rest of the female bridal party and let him help out where he wants to, he can get a bit nervous so might not even want to help the Usher/s out ?, will find out closer to the time anyway.

Really appreciate all your help girls, I can worry about something else now ?
