Is anyone having fairy lights?? If so, I need your help!

jimjams, 18 October, 2012 at 21:08 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi all,

I am having real trouble finding suppliers of fairy lights and light curtains, and I wondered if any of you have already found anywhere to buy/hire fairy lights or light curtains in large numbers?

I intend to decorate a whole room, my reception venue floor to ceiling in lights. Many companies seem to do either very small numbers of the curtains, or they can only supply the black "starlight" curtains which is not the look I am going for... I want warm white fairy lights, the hanging sort like you often see outside houses at Christmas.

If you know anywhere that could, or even MIGHT be able to help, PLEASE let me know - I am getting worried my dream of a fairytale weddng reception will never happen!!

Thank you :-)

Have you tried Lights4fun? I've ordered stuff from them before and they may be able to help.

I got mine on eBay, although i only got a few. Try contacting people that sell as a business from there are you may get a good deal?

Thank you ladies, I will get onto those websites... The prices seem reasonable but the number I need makes it one of the biggest costs in my budget, so if anyone knows of any companies that hire out lights I'd be really interested in those!

    Thank you!! xxx

Hmmmmmm, might be a bit too far then for the guys I'm using.

Worth a look though, they're very reasonable

Have a look at festive lights, i got mine from there and they were really good. They had alot of choice and quick delivery too but you would have to either get the venue to put them up as i think they supply only

Thanks so much everyone... Contacted all of them and most are either too far or still too expensive for what I'm lookig for, BUT one of them was really helpful and put me on to another company who think they can help me!! :-)

For anyone else looking, they're called Cimenattag and Matt is really helpful... He had some great suggestions to help get me what I wanted within my budget and I've got very high hopes!! :-)

Another Hitched forum success... Thanks everyone :-)

The problem is the quantities I will need... Even if I bought them, most of the nice hanging fairy lights are around two to three hundred pounds for just a 2m x 3m coverage... So it would be thousands to buy enough to cover a big hall in them! I ideally need to either rent them, or find another way to do it...

Hiya, I am in cambs too and I looked at this company. I don't know about the curtains but the LED mood lighting seemed really reasonable at £150 so maybe their starlit curtains will be too? Worth a phonecall maybe? I want the dancefloor but can't afford a big one and a little one will look crap lol
