Is there a hairdresser near Heathrow??

Mr S and I are going to a posh do in London this summer, and I really want to be able to get my hair done - just a blow dry, so it stays nice for the night - when I do it myself it never stays frizz free!

We're staying at the Marriott at Heathrow, and won't have THAT long a time between arriving and the actual party so it'd be good if I could go somewhere nearby...I have no concept of where Heathrow is in relation to anywhere, so any recommendations would be appreciated!

    There will be loads. Hounslow is the nearest town and there must be hairdressers there, it's not the most salubrious area though.

    I'd probably give the Marriott a call and see if they have a hairdressers or can recommend one. I know that the Hilton in Gatwick has one in the hotel so it wouldn't surprise me if other airport hotels do too.

    Will you have transport? There's good hairdressers in Richmond, Twickenham and Chiswick all of which aren't too far away. Or you could try Staines, which is just down the road.

    A taxi to Staines would probably be about £15 at a guess, and to Twickenham about £17 maybe?

    I've been to one in Yeading before - Mark Thorpe, Yeading Lane. I worked at the airport and I think I went before a christmas party once. This was many moons ago though. You could bus it from the airport in about five minutes.

    I think the Renaisance has a hairdresser's - it's on the same road and the buses are free to/from Harlington Corner

    Or there's Tricia Gilbey on 020 8572 6574/**** who's a local mobile hairdresser if it's easier to get someone to come to you
