Love it - we are going to do this! All the meanings of the names on our guest list are OK except for one that means 'war or strife' - might see if I can creatively come up with an alternative!

I like the idea, but what if you have somebody whose name means something really lame like 'small and podgy one' - might not be appreciated!

I like the idea too, but as someone with a non-english name I wouldn't be 100 percent sure to find meanings for all the guest's names - unless you don't have any tricky ones...

There are so many great ideas on here today, I love this idea. My name means pure & virginal!! My h2b's name means the bearer of christ and he's a complete athiest (sp) so will have to think of a creative way around that

Ho ho ho. Just thought I'd mention that H2B's name means horse lover. Hee hee! He's not impressed. Apparently I'm paraphrasing and it should be 'lover of horses'. I like my interpretation better - lol! ?
