Isolation pre-wedding

Sadia, 3 November, 2021 at 17:10 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi there, i'm really struggling to decide whether i should keep my son off school before my wedding to minimise the risk of him getting COVID. I'm not going to the office in the week leading up to the event, nor is my partner,as we can both WFH.

I just am worried that if my son gets ill we would have to move the wedding, would never want to go ahead without him there!

Has anyone else got contingency plans for what they would do if one of your family has to isolate or gets Covid?

thank you!

Is a hard one, as I wouldn't want them to miss school, but also wouldn't want the wedding to be jeopardized. We have agreed that if Covid is still a thing in April we will both work from home for 2 weeks before and not have contact with anyone in that time, and our bridal party have also agreed to do the same but you cant account for everyone else doing the same. If it really stresses you that much I would do it for your own sanity.

As you 100% obviously want your son there and it obviously important to you for him to be there which is understandable I'd talk to the school see if he can possibly have the 2 weeks before the wedding off of school as covid is obviously 100% somthing you have to consider. Just explain to them that your worried about covid I'm sure they would understand.

And as for our plans of if someone gets covid we will not be pushing our wedding date as we dont have the mental strength for that we will just sort somthing if it happens x

It really depends when your date is, we are getting married in July 2022 and the only kids we have at the entire wedding are my two (12 and 14) and my sisters children who will be 3,8 and 10 so I’m not too worried about it at the moment. I really hope by 2022 Covid is less of an issue after 2years of restrictions.
I know for a fact that our high school would not let the kids have two weeks off though as they are pretty strict. You could do daily lateral flows to give you some reassurance prior to the wedding.
