Japanese sushi places in and around London...

I don't know any personally but try listings on www.toptable.co.uk where you can search by cuisine, area etc.

When you say not like Yo Sushi, do you mean you don't want a conveyor?

Kulu Kulu on Brewer St (or South Ken or Soho) is good sushi for a reasonable price (either conveyor or table). If you can find an Itsu it also does surprisingly good sushi, but it may not be the kind of dinner place you are looking for. Otherwise Tokyo City is great value if you are over City of London way.

If you want cheap and cheerful sushi/Japanese, then my favourite is Tokyo Diner, just as you enter Chinatown from Charing X Road.

Another vote for Tokyo Diner - good sushi and reasonable prices.

And another for Tokyo Diner. I love the place. It's just off Leicester Square on Newport Place.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, we had unexpected guests so ended up cooking a very dull chicken and goats cheese salad for everyone...my sushi craving will have to wait til next week. I think I may have driven past Tokyo Diner before, it sounds very familiar.
