daisymoo86, 5 February, 2015 at 11:33 Posted on Planning 0 563

Hello to all July 2016 Brides (and Grooms)

I decided that as the 2016 general thread seems to be getting very full with almost 100 hundred pages that I would start a thread for those getting married in the same month as me so we can all see how we are getting along Smiley smile I can also keep a tab in the OP of the July dates Smiley smile

So feel free July 2016 to share your plans, bookings, ideas etc Smiley smile

I know at lease 4 of the 16th brides are around a lot - me being one of them! I think we have chosen a popular date, I think its because of the 16/7/16 thing - is symmetry the right word?

Wow, you are organised! Have you got much left?

Ok, I will jump in too:

Booked: Venue, tog, registrar, cake, favours, DJ.

We have our first appointment with the caterer later this month, then I will focus on accommodation and then I have my first dress appointments lined up from end March!

    Hi Everyone

    I'm July the 9th ?

I feel like we haven't got much organised, but so far we have the venue, DJ, LOVE letter lights and car booked. We've provisionally held a date with a TOG and I have spoken to a lady about making my dress. I also have umpteen DIY ideas rushing around my head, which I blame on Pinterest. I have started to collect jars, made some felt flowers and am doodling designs for our stationary.

Looking forward to seeing where everyone is up to.

    Hello fellow July wedlings :-)

So for I have booked..... The TOG!!

Still waiting on a contract so we can pay our deposit on new reception venue. Not allowed to book ceremony until June (Welsh castle rules), and have only recently chosen celebrant and DJ, so yet to pay deposits.

Dont need a caterer, as we and some famalam are doing a mad hatters tea party ourselves, and we will probably just order 50 pizzas for drunken evening munch :-). Not having cars or MUA, so really, not much left to book!!!

18 months!! So excited! I feel like I really entered wedding 'zone' after the new year, before that it seemed too early to do anything!

i wish I could do bridesmaid dresses but I have two young ones and one older who is talking about losing weight and also possibly having a baby, so a lot of growing/changes between now and then!

dress shopping today with mum and fmil Smiley smile

Wow, you are all so organised! Our date is 29 July and so far we have booked the church, venue and TOG.

How far in advance should I be looking to get my dress? Apart from this, my OH is organising everything (he's totally 'the bride'; we have a role reversal where the wedding is concerned!). I guess from all the things others have booked I will say to him that he needs to get a wriggle on!

I think it's too early to look at dresses, but I accidentally started a couple of weeks ago, so now I feel like I need to finish what I started! I wouldn't have started looking until July if I hadn't been dragged in by my mum earlier than planned!

Although it's the most stressful part for me so I'll be relieved when the decision is made and I can switch off from it, been a bundle of walking anxiety for weeks!

Bubblerawk: I would love to go to Iceland, not sure if we could ever afford it. At the mo we are planning to spend a couple days in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere, and do a few days in London or something :-) OR a package deal for a metal festival in Germany or something :-) 10

We're not going on a honeymoon until our 1st anniversary - and even then it will be a family holiday.

I did however just book a suite in a close by hotel for getting/the night of - i LOVE it!

Exactly, I think the same way, I hate to feel ripped off just because its wedding related. I know! It's crazy when you write it all down. Glad though as we are planning of having a week of date nights in the run up to the wedding, leaving our phones at home and doing stuff we used to when we were first going out like bowling, going to gigs, cinema, meal in our favourite place and stuff like that and you know what I'm really looking forward to it. ( Wel. I'm hoping it's stress fre! Ha)

@Daisymoo I know! I think a lot of the 2016 brides and grooms are very organised. Just a heads up the flights for July next year dont become available until August this year. Weve already started to look at our honeymoon and have got some provisional prices, but will know better after August, (we've got a bit of competition going on between 2 companies so hopefully we can get it at a great deal) but at the minute its (something like) 5 days in Las Vegas, 6 days in Miami and 2 days in New York, the more we think about it the more we can't wait to book it, we both said it would be a holiday we would be unlikely do again so why not do as much as we can with what money we have.
