July 2016 Brides (and Grooms)

I'm at a loose end wedding wise. Have done everything possible at the moment so nothing to do now until the new year. Then it's all systems go.

When are you lovely July brides planning your hair and makeup trial? I haven't booked mine yet.

The girl doing my hair and makeup booked me in for mine when I paid the deposit, so it's booked 4 June (she said book it 6 weeks before) I'm really struggling with what I want my hair like. I know I want my makeup natural and oddly enough I'm just looking at nail options.

I've chosen my nails and makeup but struggling with hair style. I think I want it up and have a tiara and veil to add but I want the veil low at the back. I might leave it up to my hairdresser and see what she suggests. . Decisions decisions.... x

What you having your nails like? I keep toying with a bit of colour.

Ohh I've seen some lovely low bun styles that would suit a low veil.

I know I want my hair up as it'll annoy me being down all day, I am debating getting my hair cut though (bob length) just so I can have my hair down. The hair is so bloody hard, I didn't think it would be.

My nails will be French with a bit of sparkle. I've been growing my hair for 2 years now so I had options but I must admit I'm a bit of a Bob girl too and long hair is driving me mad so it will have to be up on the day LOL x

Glad it's not just me then! I've done exactly the same! Will talk to the girl doing it and see what suggestions she has. I don't want it too neat and tidy I know that much ☺. I just have to resist getting my hair chopped off till then

Hey girls, I am still around but not much going on at the moment! Been concentrating mostly on Christmas so the wedding has been put to the side.

We have a meeting with the wedding co-ordinator at our venue on the 17th - I've met her briefly but OH hasn't as they have changed since we booked. Hopefully will get a few questions answered, and sort out when we will have our tasting. She said early next year so hoping it's soon.

We sorted ties/pocketsquares out, need to order the rest now.

I feel like time is starting to run away with me and I have lots to do but can't put my finger on what needs doing - or at least, can be done now. I'm expecting everything to get busy one January (and 6 months!!!) hits.

You've all been so busy! I've been trying to keep up to date with where everyone is up to when the new posts pop into my inbox. Meanwhile, I haven't posted an update for a while so thought I should Super busy with Christmas and have been making my invites slowly but surely over the past few weeks. Got a final design after many prototypes and have been working like a little robot to cut and fold and stick lots over the past few days. Hoping to get them done in the next couple of weeks so I can start sending out the first batch in Jan/Feb. Want to see how many day guests decline, to see if any evening guests need to be bumped up to day guests so make up the numbers (we have a min. of 50 day guests).

Probably more importantly, I had my make up trial last weekend! It was really lovely, but I got lost on the way to the venue and ended up half an hour late, very unlike me, I'm normally super organised but was too excited and went to a place with the same road name 15 mins away :/ Mega stressful. But anyway, got there and it was lovely. Decided to have my hair down as I never ever do, it's always back in a ponytail. They did the hairstyle perfectly and it looked so lovely. I had ordered a floral headband from Asos but one of the flowers snapped off so I've returned it so I'm on the lookout for another headband. Recommendations please!

Since I last posted I've also found some lovely bouquets in Dumelms (they look much better in real life!) that I want to try and add a bit to. Otherwise the bridesmaids bouquets will be the same as mine :/ We've also sourced the thank you gifts for the best men and ordered some lovely confetti from Shropshire Petals. Pheeeewww!

On a final note, I'm trying to use RSVPify for the wedding invites and it's proving awkward for the Evening vs day guests, as everyone gets invited to the main event (day) and the evening is optional - so totally the wrong way around. Anyone else used this website for their online RSVP's? I'm doing paper ones as well, just wanted an online version too!

Hi All

So I was going to put the wedding on the back burner until after Christmas as we're doing Christmas day but it would appear that I have Christmas all under control. Cards are written, presents are under the tree (OMG when did I become so organised LOL) so I find myself at a loose end.

I have decided I'm going to write out all of our wedding invitations (won't be sending them for 8 weeks or so though). Hopefully that will give me the wedding "fix" I need. Sometimes feels like this wedding will never get here!

How's everyone else getting on? I guess it won't be too long before the scary bit of paying the balances gets here.

My dress came in a couple of weeks ago and i went to pay for it and try it on!

It is so stunning. I almost cried.

Only problem is, I've lost almost 40lbs since it was ordered and it pretty much falls off me now haha.

Other slight problem was an oil stain on the skirt. They are going to get it cleaned and if that doesnt work they will replace the skirt.

Leelee your dress is gorgeous, and congratulations on the weight loss. My dress was due in anytime since the end of September to the end of December but I haven't dared to chase it up because I know I've put on weight instead ️?️

I am having my first supplier 'grr' moment. I have hired some sequin tablecloths for the cake table and the sweet buffet and I had the round dimensions but I've been chasing up the rectangular dimensions for ages. So I sent an email yesterday saying that I was very disappointed to have no response and that if she couldn't provide me with the information then I would be expecting a refund. To which she replied!!! I finally got the dimensions (they're fine) but she was quite shirty and told me she'd sent them to me already, which she hadn't. And even if she had, how hard is it to just respond with a measurement to one of my previous emails?! The whole thing's put me off her now. I won't cancel yet but I think I will look elsewhere and see if I can find someone I can have more confidence in.

Another month marker today. 7 months exactly to go for me ..... eeekk!!! ?

My venue told me to send mine out between now and feb as they want the RSVPs back by April.

I am also aiming for the end of January which will be about the 6 month mark.

I think we're sending around March/April. We have already sent save the dates though if that makes a difference. Aiming for this:

All invitations sent by April 16th.

RSPVs due by May 16th.

That gives a month to chase as final numbers and food choices are due to the venue by a month before, so June 16th.

Sending mine out by end of Jan too! Will just be for the day guests, then will aim to send evening guests in Feb/March. Sent out the save the dates last August. Wedding is on 31st July

I've given out close family ones over Christmas to save on postage but the rest of the day invites will go out by March, with an RSVP date of end of May. Will send evening ones after that (incase we want to upgrade anyone)

Had the best email today from the bridal shop. The bridesmaid dresses are in and 3 months early. Apparently they are gorgeous. So excited to see them in the fuchsia as they only had a sample dress in blue ?

Anyone elses planning starting to pick up again now?

Yep starting to pick up for me now. I thought I was organised but now keep remembering things I have to do and wondering how I am going to manage time wise ...

Got to make dress alteration appointments for me and BM's, buy my 10 year old BM some shoes, meet the cake maker to discuss requirements, book hair and make up trail, find a shirt for OH, confirm ceremony details, send out invitations and I'm trying to lose half a stone just so I can feel more confident in my dress.

This is scarily real now !!!! ?
