I know, im starting to freak out a bit and think we dont have enough time. Have you already got your 10 year old BM her dress? Ive got to get them for ours, one will be 7 the other 10. Im trying to put it off as long as I can incase they have a growth spurt!

Ive already got my hair and make up trial booked. Im trying to make one for my first alteration, ive also got an appointment for bridal lingerie fitting as they can make sure I get the right size and type to fit under my dress.

We have decided on the readings we just need to sort the music out and we are all done for the ceremony. OH is sorting the suits out so im leaving that to him. They have told him to come in in May, so that's what he will do.

I finished the invites off last night, just need to re-check the guest lists and start passing them out, then the fun will begin!.

Also, super excited, just been speaking to my mum and I think she has just got her outfit for the wedding ?.

I keep thinking I have forgotten something major and important to do, but I cant think what it will be..oh well, guess time will tell.

I think the rest of the 16th July gang have been on the quite side. Would love to know how they are getting on

Yes I have got my 10 year old her dress. They did a junior version of the adult bridesmaid dresses so we have ordered a size larger to allow for growth, knowing that in reality, it will need altering. All 4 dresses are now hanging in the "wedding" bedroom at home.

OMG ... forgot about ceremony music !!! Another thing to add to the list !

Good news about your mum's outfit. What colour has she gone for? My mum is wearing baby blue/silver. The only one that hasn't got a suit is my dad. he wants to get his own suit but you know what men are like, he'll get it when he's ready and if I left things to OH we wouldn't be getting married in this decade lol!

I think I will get the little ones more of a party dress than a traditional BM dress, but will have to wait and see what I can find. I did see these in BHS the other day and they are lovely, but not too sure.

    http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/product/wedding-1020484/flower-girl-3988958/chloe-ivory-collar-flower-girl-dress-5094249?bi=0&ps=201

Im still waiting for the main BM dress to come in, but it will be in in the next month or so, so im not too worried about it. I wouldnt want to put the little ones in a dress like this as it's red and very adult, so can't imagine what the little version would be like.

Shes gone for a light grey silver, will go for colour with top. Trying to figure out what colour shoes and bag to get. It was so hard as she wanted trousers, and majority of places only do dresses for MOB.

Ha ha, all the guys in the wedding party are having wedding suits, I have no doubt in my OH in getting it done, we are both as organised as each other.

Just reading on another post about bridal fittings in wedding season being hard to book, i'm now freaking out that I havent got mine booked. I have emailed them, but think I best give them a call instead

Oh my, you are all putting me to shame! I have 6 months to go and yet to even order and send invitations, book a videographer, find someone to do my hair and makeup, book the flowers, find bridal underwear and so on and so on!

I think because I had surgery in November and then we moved house 1 week before christmas (yes I know we were crazy!) plus the fact that I am having part 2 of the surgery next week where I am in a leg brace for 3 months and can't walk, it kind of makes sense why Wedding planning for us has been on hold!

I am trying to be positive though and in those 3 months I will be stuck indoors not being able to walk I will be able to book everything online and by telephone!

When I am back to full strength the only thing I will have to get straight onto is my bra fitting/underwear as I really need help getting the perfect fit for my Wedding dress (Thankfully my wedding dress is something I organised!)

I got a call from the wedding dress shop the other day actually saying it would soon be in store but no dress fitting until May which is perfect for me!

Hopefully I am not the only one out there that has a list as long as their arm of things still to do!?

Hey ladies, I'm still around but you're right, not much to report.

Designed a rough draft of invitations this week but OH has been away with work so waiting for him to go back to see what he thinks. Am pleased I got started though as I've been saying I need to for months!

Going through a few of the things you listed in your posts:

Dress fittings - On my to do list to contact them to find out when we should get this booked in.

Bridesmaids - dresses and bracelets done, they are sorting their shoes, hair almost sorted and need to get some clip type of thing to go in their hair.

Flower girl - she is almost 7 and her mum has said to leave it until a month or two before the wedding before getting anything. Makes the organised part of me freak out, but I don't know how kids grow so I trust her!

OH also needs a shirt, thanks for the reminder Shelly!

Had one hair trial for both me and bridesmaid and think we are fairly decided on what we're doing now. Planning to have a more concrete one next month.

Ceremony - we have some bits organised but most of it we need to go through properly with the vicar. Hymns are a big question as I have no idea.

We haven't decided if we want a videographer so if we do, that needs booking.

Also need to sort our cars which we just keep putting off.

Typing all this out makes me feel so behind, eeek!

    Hi girlies Smiley smile

I've had a break over Christmas and am trying to get back into it, but just dreading all the DIY stuff I still have to do. I haven't really made a dent in it and I know I need to get my invites sent out. I've started making them, but need to organise a 'crafty day' with the bridesmaids to get them finished :/ On the groom side, my OH and his best man have been suit shopping and bought their jackets and trousers, M&S has some great deals in their sale! They don't sell cravats though, so have sourced those online but will wait to see what colour the bridesmaid dresses turn out to be so we can match the shade. We have a sort of turquoise blue theme, but I feel like finding bridesmaid dresses in the exact shade I want will be difficult - I want to spend under £100 per dress if possible! Any recommendations for bridemaid dresses?

My list of things to do is as follows:

    - Buy travel insurance for honeymoon (been meaning to do this for months!! Honeymoon has been booked since Aug and we officially aren't covered for cancellations until we do this)

    - Bridesmaid dress shopping

    - Make and send out invites

    - Gifts for parents (have ordered photo albums but want something to give on the day - help! Any ideas?)

    - Need to find bridal jewellery. Would like a tiara, earrings and necklace.

    - Make some trial favours

    - Make bunting, trial cake pops, trial button holes & other decorations for the venue

    - Send back the ceremony booking form - need to decide on readings & vows

    - Order cravats, waistcoats, shirts & shoes

    - Order passport (May 2016)

    - Sort out the playlists

& more things I can't think of right now...

    Things I've done:

    - Had the make up trial which went quite well.

    - Suits bought

    - Dress & Veil is ordered and due in Feb/March

    - Gifts bought for best men and bridesmaids

    - Wedding lingerie & shoes - done!

    - Wedding website is live

    - Wishing well made

    - All big things booked - cake, photographer, entertainment, venue etc

    - Given notice

I don't think I'm winning yet! Feels like so much to do, and so little time. How fast did January come round? July will be here in a flash, ahhhh...

My OH cousin out in the states got married last year and this was his brides suggestion for bridesmaid dresses she let them pic their own style but they were all the same colour....some reasonable prices on the site too. Hope it helps with your quest.

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, getting married on 23rd July and its great to have a read through everyone's plans and how the planning process is going. Although, I can't help but compare my progress and I realise I have SO much left to do, but all the main things are booked. Also, the bridal shop just let me know my dress is in Smiley laugh

    6 months to go!

    Hi!

Up until last week I was an August bride but we have had to bring our wedding forward due to my fiancé being deployed around our original wedding date! I am now getting married on Saturday 23rd July Smiley smile! We have had to change EVERYTHING including our venue, we lost all our deposits and have had to start again so the past week has been a nightmare trying to confirm dates and book new people! Its a second chance though, I booked a lot of people before reading blogs and then kind of regretted some of my decisions! Now I know exactly who I want Smiley smile plus we get married sooner so even more exciting (and slightly scary! I am WAY behind!)

Page so sorry to hear about all the hassle with changing your dates that's my biggest worry for my wedding. Both my fiancé and I are military and different services so chances of being off together have always been difficult and he is away for 8 months and due back about 5 weeks before the wedding.

I would say to all brides (and grooms) to be wedding insurance! Especially if you or your partner are I'm the military and make sure it's one that covers for deployment, the only thing they won't cover is an act of war or if we go to war (that's why they are called conflict so you can still claim on insurance).

Hope it's still wonderful day the main thing is that you are marrying each other.

Oh no Paige! What a nightmare. Right at the beginning we had to change our plans (luckily we didn't lose any money) and I just burst into tears! At least there's a silver lining if you've changed it for the better, and brought it forward which is exciting (and you'll be getting married the same day as me!) good luck

Picked up my wedding dress, veil and belt yesterday. So excited. (i'm having my alterations done outside of the dress shop).

Also had some friends over on the weekend and they did all my day invites for me.

Got a flower appointment on Saturday and meeting with our Priest next Monday.

we're trying to figure out how much alcohol we need to buy as well at the moment.

Feels like there is a lot going on right now. I think I also need to create a list of names for the hen night. How big do i go?

    How's it going Ladies?

Had a bit of a week last week. My niece's BM dress didn't fit. Anyway, we finally got our money back from the bridal shop and went to look at the high street options. Managed to find this which will compliment the adult BM dresses nicely and my niece is over the moon! Phew ... !!!

I'm also sending invites out this week as people have already been asking when they are getting them and a couple of aunties are living abroad and running their own businesses so they need time to book flights etc.

My dress alterations are booked for May and I am about to book hair and make trial.

    Hen do is in June.

Am calling the cake maker tonight to discuss the cake in more detail.

It's all go at the moment.

Hope you're all getting there with your planning.

    Shelly x ?

    21st July.

Haven't been doing anything lately wedding wise.

Need to lose weight. Not been very good at that so far. My dress is at least two sizes too small at the moment.

Going to transfer my ISA next financial year so need to remember to keep a couple of grand accessible for wedding stuff.

Will probably send invites in February. That's a good amount of time to give I reckon.

Thinking about getting hair and make up done as a treat to myself but not sure yet. Couple of places nearby that do it.

Next things will be talking to the venue and caterer to get those bits pinned down.

@Shelley70 I'm glad you managed to sort the dress out. Your niece looks lovely.

My hen do will be in June too. What are you doing for yours? My BMs are organising a weekend in Liverpool, which I'm really looking forward to.

Our invites and wedding website are ready to go. We will be posting them at the end of the month which will be 6 months to go. We have a lot of people travelling from abroad so I think it's good to give plenty of notice.

Off to a wine tasting session at our venue tonight...even though we intend to supply our own wine. It's mainly because neither of us really drink red so we'd like an idea of what would be nice to have on the table.

Good luck with your wine tasting. We're supplying our own too and we've already bought ours and stashed it in the cupboard under the stairs - out of sight, out of mind LOL!!.

My hen do is being hosted at my chief bridesmaid/best friend's sisters house. She has a posh house with a massive garden and will be on the theme of afternoon tea (and evening) with a hot tub, lots of prosecco and party games thrown in.

Glad I'm not the only one sending invites out already. I can't wait to start getting some rsvp's.

I knew once Christmas was out of the way time would fly but I can't believe we're heading towards the end of January already. It's so real and so close now and a bit scary ... eeek!

    Hi,

i am a July bride. I don't come on here often these days, mainly because you guys are all so organised and it freaks me out/makes me feel completely behind! I had some time off planning over Christmas and really need to get my act in gear now. My h2b just lost his job recently so everything is a bit stressful at the mo and I don't really feel like planning anythjng. But the planning must go on, because I'm running out of time! here is what I have done and what I have left to do:

    Done:

venue, registrar, food, photographer, dress, accomodation, florist, DJ

    Currently doing:

invitations and bridesmaids dresses (any advice/recommendations for BM dresses online welcome!)

    Still to do:

Give notice, rings, suits, my shoes and accessories, favours & table decorations, seating plan, hen & stag do, cake (thinking of doing this myself), honeymoon (although not sure we can afford one now), gifts for people, hair & makeup, ceremony music & readings and cars/transport (basically LOADS!)

    Have I forgotten anything?!

I'm only sending evening invites out to people that are in the same house as day guests i.e. we are inviting aunties and uncles to the day but cousins are only invited to the evening due to numbers so if they live in the same house then yes, if that makes sense.

Saying that, we've had a few people ask us when our evening invites are coming!

I'm slowly sending my invites out too! I gave out the first two when my bridesmaid & family came to help make them last weekend. Then I've made another five for this weekend to hand out to my family. Then I just have to make up the rest... :/ I made the design super complicated and it's taking hours to create each invite. But they're worth it! Smiley smile The only other thing I've done is create the bouquets. I do have some photos on my camera, I'll have to remember to upload at some point. I feel like my DIY/craft list isn't shrinking much... I still need to make the cake topper (which will be mini bunting), actual bunting, little chalk boards & menus, centrepieces (flowers in jugs basically), favour trials (they're jam!), confetti cones, order of ceremony sheets and kids activity packs. Pheeewww... Feels like January has gone so quickly! What's next on your to-do lists?
