So my first formal RSVP is in ... Yay! And it's from my 92 year old nan to say she will be coming. Bless her ?

Aww that's lovely, the rest of my invites got dispatched today and my wedding favours came

its soo difficult with the wedding favours next to me, I want to eat them all (its chocolate)

Now your invites are on their way you best get in writing mode LOL ... I thought i'd enjoy writing mine but it became a massive chore!

I'd be tempted by the favours too. I've already bought our wine for the reception but I've had to put it out of sight as I'd be tempted to open a bottle or two!!

Ohh i know, im not looking forward to writing them lol

i work on a computer so im not sure what a pen is

I am finally back in the mood to carry on with our wedding plans as I have my engagement ring back!!! My ring came broken at the back just after Christmas so we took it back to the jewellery shop and they promised to have it back with in a week, two weeks later it finally came back but the ring was now a size smaller so it was sent off again and today I got it back and it fits again!!! No apology from the shop so we won't be getting our wedding rings from there! So today I have started writing out the invites! I still have loads to do and my OH is so laid back and said he will take control (which is a worry) What I have left to do: Choose hymns and readings for church Wedding dress alterations (waiting for the lady to call be back) Hair and Make up Suits (OH said he's sorting it) Venue decor (OH said he will decorate the venue and what's it to be a surprise) Bridemaids Dress (they are all trying to lose weight so no idea when to get them) Wedding Rings Favours Presents for best man ect. I have probably missed loads off but i think we are slowly getting there Zx

Girls, we've had such a productive wedding weekend! Yesterday we went to Slaters and picked out the suit for the men. We're going to arrange a weekend soon when everyone can go together to be measured up. And this afternoon we orders our WRs! I'm so happy with mine, it's exactly what I wanted and we got a great deal on them too. Going to sort out my invites this evening ready for posting next weekend! Eeek!

Thank you .. definitely will get insurance this time! We seem to have everything sorted now and I'm even more excited about our new bookings! So annoying that your fiancé isn't around for all the planning hopefully everything goes smoothly for you .. I can't wait to be married! Finally will live together, it can't come quick enough!! x

I have my first fitting at the end of February I can't wait!

We have now done:

- Bridesmaids dresses

- Met with the florist

- Had the quote back from the caterers

- Marquee

- Bought my beautiful wedding ring and got a quote for my fiancé's

- Photographer and Videographer

- Sketch back from the cake lady its amazing!

- Save the dates (I had the design finalised and now am adamant they will still go out even if they are very swiftly followed by the invites haha)

- Venue

- MUA and Hair

- Church (just need a few meetings with the vicar)

- Finalised guest list!

Left to do:

- Book the honeymoon

- Think about décor

- DJ

- Band

- Props/Games

- Hotel for the wedding night/ Restaurant for the rehearsal dinner

- Send out the invites

- Final Touches

Hey ladies,

We're making progress! Had my first dress fitting on Tuesday, and I got my veil, yay! Next booking is on 22nd Feb and they estimate my dress will be finished by April! That's quite a few months to keep my weight the same haha

We still haven't sorted cars but we do have 2 places booked to go and look at on Sunday. I'm thinking we will just book whichever one we like more. I'm really not that fussed about cars so would rather just get it over with.

We have our tasting booked for 9th Feb, once that's booked we can get the invitations finished off and start handing them out.

Our hotel allocation is now fully booked! At least we know we will have guests

For now I think that's all. Next on my list other than the invitations is to speak to the vicar about when to get things started.

For those of you getting married in a church, when are you doing your banns and having meetings with the vicar?

Sounds like you've been busy and things are getting there. I have my final dress fit in May and like you, worried that I must stay the same weight after that ....

My invitations are out and rsvp's are coming back slowly.

Can't help with the vicar and banns as ours is in the local registry office but I'd like to get things moving as soon as possible (that's the OCD in me lol).

Laurafish - we are meeting our vicar 3 times, the first proper meeting is next week. Our banns are being read in June.

I have had a productive week, sorting the florist and ordering invitations, but they won't be ready for 3 weeks due to high demand, I hope this is enough time as we didn't do save the dates

Productive day here - posted our invitations and picked up my wedding ring. Wish I could flash from my phone!

Most of the invites have gone out today, just got a few we need to give to people when we see them.

5 months to go on tuesday

5 months on Tuesday for me too! Venue booked, food decided on, invites sent, rings bought, dress fitting in March along with hair and makeup trial, bridesmaids dresses ordered, all thr stuff for day and evening booked and deposits paid, just trying to find time to make my table decorations..... Done the place cards at least (I am doing all my own stationery), hen weekend booked, hubby to be has been away since September and not back until 6 weeks before the wedding (think he got the better end of the deal). Just found out that best man now.csnt make it or the back up so trying to see if the 3Rd is available (fiancee is in thr navy and I'm in the air force so unfortunately it comes with the territory people being deployed ) can't believe it's nearly 5 months until the day!! Booked all my beauty treatments on the lead up to the day so it's getting real!!

5 months and 1 week exactly for me!

Such a productive week for us, we've booked the flowers, designed and had our Wedding Invitations delivered, booked the most amazing hair stylist and make artist, booked the videographer too, sorted out the rough draft of the table plan and created a wedding website!
The most difficult thing to organise was getting my sisters make up and hair trial arranged as she lives in Dubai but the hair and make up ladies were amazing and just took her contact details to arrange it all for me as they know us Brides have enough to arrange!

So happy with our Wedding Invitations too and will be sending them out tomorrow!

It's all starting to seem real now, so excited for our wedding day, it can't come soon enough!

May i ask who your hairstylist is? I am still looking but won't be back in England until a few weeks before the wedding so I need someone flexible - and what you described sounds great! If she is in my area....

Haha us too, so far we have a whole 10 people coming to the evening do which consist of my work friends lol

the day invites and the rest of the evenings only went out this week.

if all else fails, at least 10 turning up haha

I'm eagerly awaiting RSVP's too! I sent out a bunch at the weekend and have been slowly giving them out as we see people. So far, I've got one RSVP back However, one family has booked hotel rooms etc, so that's good (but why would you not RSVP at the same time!?). We have also had one person get in touch about possibly booking a room so that's good. I'm starting to make the evening invites now, and I've ordered personalised sweetie bags! I'm so excited about those coming through. They look like this:

I also made all my centrepieces (basically arranging flowers in jugs), but I need to make my table names and have no idea what I'm doing with that. I've also made some little menus to go on the tables too, and have been eyeing up some trivia table games at Amazon but haven't seen loads that I think look really good.

I still need to make a whole load of bunting! I've booked a meeting with my event manager to go and measure up and go over all the details in March, so we can get an idea of where we are putting everything. We also have to bring our own audio cable for the iPod, a RCA thing to a headphone jack, so need to buy that then test it when we go in. Bit weird.

How are you guys getting on with the decor & preparations?

Hello strangers, long time no speak, hope all the plans are coming on.

I know i've been a little quiet on here the last couple of months, but things have been a little crazy and we've had to change a few plans, nothing major though. I found out in January that I was pregnant! Yes, it was a total shock and so unexpected. So I will be 32 weeks when we get married! Hopefully the shop can alter my dress to fit my new bump, but if not I will have to go shopping for another one.

Just wanted to tell you guys, I hadn't fallen off the face of the earth, and thank you for voting for me to win "best signature" it really cheered me up.

So, apart from this bit a news, all the wedding stuff is ticking over, invites are being sent out, RSVP's are coming back, so it's all good.

I'm currently writing names on invites to send out. First dress fitting for alterations on Saturday (40lbs down and the dress falls off me).

Is it normal for my h2B to become the most annoying man in the world in the run up to this wedding?

Can't believe we (16th July crew) have less than 5 months to go!!!! where has the time gone?

I am having my MU trial this afternoon!! I am absolutely buzzing to be having my MU done professionally. Will be back with loads of flashes (only if it looks good of course ?).

Also picking up my BM dresses today. I'm a bit nervous about the colour because they didn't have the dress in the colour on the day and the swatch I got sent subsequently was a bit...hmm. But I'm sure they will be beautiful.

Looking forward to it. Hope the dresses turned out ok. Im going to be like this when the BM dress I ordered comes in, we went off a swatch ?. Come to think of it, I best chase them soon

The dresses are lovely! The shade seems slightly different to what I remember, but I am really pleased with them nonetheless and I think the girls will look great!

Make up went well too! I had to change a few things, my eyes were a smokey brown originally which I felt was too dark, and the lips were a bit too pillar box red, and I asked for more blusher which made her laugh because she thought she'd already put a lot on! But hey, I'm supposed to be blushing right?! Very pleased with the end result, but now my phone won't let me upload!! I will try again from work on Monday.

I don't really post in this thread much but I am a July 16 bride. Can't believe how quickly it's coming round, all starting to feel very real now!

Only big things we have left to do is rings and suits. Slightly panicking that we haven't got rings yet as all the advice I've seen around says order rings 7/8 months in advance! I hope we haven't left it too late.

then it will just be sorting out the finer details with the suppliers nearer the time, like exactly what flower arrangements will look like and what songs for the DJ and exact numbers for the meal etc.

our RSVPs are starting to come in now which is really exciting! And I have my dress safely at my mums house now, I keep wanting to go round at just look at it/try it on!

Also need to get favours and stationary for the tables sorted out. Feels like it's all coming together!

Hi Ladies

Just letting you know that after my world was turned upside down after the sudden death of my dad, we are carrying on with our original plans and our wedding is going ahead. I hope this doesn't sound heartless but this is what he would have wanted so we are going to have our special day in his honour.

It's going to be hard to carry on without him but my brother has agreed to give me away and we will incorporate dad's memory into the wedding somehow.

Shelly, I've replied in your other thread but I just wanted to say I think you are doing the right thing. It will be an emotional day and at times you'll probably feel like you should still postpone. But I think when time has passed and you look back, you'll be glad you did it and be comforted by the fact that it's what he wanted. Feel free to vent here any time x
