Thanks guys. It will be hard but he wanted us to carry on. My brother has really stepped up and will take my dad's place on the day and we will have a photo of my dad on the top table. I am sure he will be with us in spirit.

Ive been away for a while so just catching up.

Bridesmaid dresses sorted now and suits and rings are being done on saturday

We've been busy with the invitations, it's taking us longer than expected because I ordered something to go with them and they haven't arrived yet.

We have also changed our honeymoon destination, we'll be going to Japan and Bali which is very exciting.

I'm now going crazy trying to decide what to accessorize hair with and where to have makeup done! But fun times all around!

I got to try on my dress on Saturday!! I love it soo much. I'm desperate to do a flash but I'm afraid someone I know might come across it. Even if I blurred my face out, I'm still pretty identifiable from my username and avatar. I can't wait to show it off after the wedding though.

In other news, we paid the venue balance off last week and this weekend we are getting the menfolk all measured up for suits.

Aaahh Karen how exciting. I bet it's gorgeous.

It's getting so close now for all us July brides. I'm starting to blind panic that I've forgotten something major!!

hows everyone plans going. i had my dress fitting on friday. only 3 and half months left

Feeling a bit down today. I am Australian, and my Fiance is English - we decided to get married in England as his father can not travel the distance.

I only had a few guests who can make the trip, and one of my Aunts and Uncles, who said they were coming from the get go just called to say that they have had to cancel their plans as my Uncle got a new Job, and it was such an amazing opportunity he couldn't pass it up - this means no leave for a year. (he had been out of work for a year so is great for him).

I just can't help to feel so disappointed. I feel like I am going to all this effort to try to put on this beautiful day, and all this cost. My immediate family has a huge cost coming out as well, and I feel like not very many people I know / love will be there

I know I should be focusing on me and him, and that he will be there and my immediate family. I just can't help to feel down.....

I don't think I want to have the cost of a second 'event' in Australia which some people suggested......

Just wanted to rant a little bit thanks for listening!

all going well over here. We have started to hand out our invites. Decided on favours. I've had my hair trial. dress is with the seamstress H2B has ordered his suit.

Loads of little bits coming together, including my timeline for the day.

February was a super stressful month with our budget skyrocketing. Left me so stressed that I got quite ill. I'm over it all now though. What will be, will be.

March is much quieter with not much on the to do list. I have just started dress fittings for the Bridesmaids.

Plans are going well, sorry, I havent been here in aaages! I think my man has settled on an outfit for the day, he just ordered some of it tonight so here's hoping he feels fabulous when it arrives!

We still have to do this whole giving notice thingy mabob.... the registry office is booked and that is it regarding that side of things!

Yet to make a playlist for ceremony...

Yet to send out the invites, hoping to finalise a couple info bits by the end of the month so i can get them printed...

Yet to meet with caterers but that will be done after Easter...

Flowers can't be ordered until the week before the wedding...

Need to buy in a sh!t load of booze...

Finish making decorations...

Yet to find some great make-up products as I am doing my own slap....

Need to find some kick-ass threads for our son to wear...

Need to send my dress off for altering...

So yeah, a few things left to do Hahahaha!!!

On the plus side, the big sh!t is booked and we are coming in within budget And I start my new job in a week so all of the fun!

16th July Gang - 15 weeks this Saturday .... OMG !!!! ?

Not long to go now for all you July brides...... I Have a very busy July. The 30th is the only Saturday that I don't have a wedding and I have 15 in total to perform at. What is everyone doing for their entertainment?

13 weeks this Saturday for me so not long at all!!

Got my firdt dress fitting middle of the month and bridesmaid dresses should be in soon too.

My entertainment is a Harpist just before and during the ceremony then for reception also. The evening we have a 6piece swing band doing 2x45 min sets and a set play list in-between and after plus fireworks at about 10pm and I have added the heart shaped ones to it. So excited now nearly got all my RSVPs back and table plan is coming together nicely going to be sending my evening invites out soon too.

16 July gang, can you believe tomorrow we will be down to 99 days!...less than 100 days!! ? where has that all gone?

Another milestone down, and next week we hit the 3 month mark! I think it's time to panic now haha

Our invites are mostly out, all the hand delivered ones have gone but still some to post. I think I've said before though that everyone already knows the date and most people have booked hotels so it's just finalising details really.
We can see that 3 items have been bought off our gift list! The temptation to look is strong, but I really want to be surprised so will have to restrain myself...

I've spent a lot of time recently getting together little gifts for everyone, I think we're pretty much done with that now.

I pick up my dress on Monday!!!! ? Super early I know, so the pressure is on to stay the same weight now!

How is everyone else getting on? How are all your to do lists looking?

Yay for sending out the invites! That's awesome that you've got three things from the gift list already, I don't think we have any yet I'd be so tempted to peek though.

My dress has finally arrived at the shop and I have booked a dress 'try-on' next Saturday, where I'll probably have to make the final payment for my dress. Do I get to take it home? They have a seamstress that makes all the alterations, but I'm tempted to take it elsewhere. The shop has said to keep around £200 aside for alterations, does this sound right to you guys? How long do alterations take? I haven't lost weight yet and want to try and leave them a bit later if possible... :/

My to-do list is looking quite good, but my printer broke last weekend and I'm stuck until I get a new one. I still need to make the order of ceremony fans, place names, table names, favour labels, all my signage (chalk boards everywhere!) and need to design my seating plan too. I have also made a mini bunting cake topper and am not really happy with it, so might do something else.

All the big stuff is booked and we've made loads of stuff already, just feels like we have so much to do. And the three month mark is getting closer... eeek. Once May is here, I need to sort out my passport, as my old one has been expired for about a year or two and I need my new one in my new name. But I've sent the form off to the registry office already so hoping it comes back beginning of May.

Hi Kay, I think once you have paid for the dress you can take it away. I don't think you're obliged to use their seamstress. I haven't been given a quote for mine yet, but I am anticipating it being around the £200 mark. My final fitting is booked in for 2 weeks before the wedding day and my 1st and 2nd bookings booked in 2 & 4 weeks before that. So I will start my fittings at the 6 week mark.

OMG girls the 3 month mark (and Jen-Lou and Laurafish 99 days ..... squeel). Where is the time going. I feel a bit nervous all of a sudden at being reminded about how little time we have left.

I don't know about you but once this is over I'm really going to miss you all. It's been lovely sharing the journey with you all, especially the July 16 gang and, of course, my date twins.

3 months left ... REALLY !!! PANIC MODE ?

Ahh I know Shelly I know I haven't been on here much this year, but you have all been great when I have. I will do a wedding report though.

I hate to think how much the alterations to my dress are going to cost now. I'm going back a week saturday to see what it looks like on and for them to start making a plan to fix it so itll work. I can see me having a melt down in the shop. I just hope they can do something nice with it so I dont look like im wearing a table cloth

We have sent out majority of our invitations just a handfull left now and weve had lots of compliments on our website which im chuffed about.

Agreed, I'll miss coming on here all the time! I like to think I'd stick around but I'm not sure if it'll get old once I'm not planning any more... either that or I'll be jealous of everyone who still is, haha! Wedding reports seemed to have died way down compared to how often they used to be. I'm definitely still planning to do one though - I haven't really posted much in the way of flashes in case anyone recognises me so I'm going to make up for it!

Shelly, I keep feeling nervous too. Yesterday my OH's mum told me she was getting butterflies and I thought that must mean it's real if someone else is feeling it too!!

Kay, that sounds about right I would say. My alterations were £160, they said before I even chose a dress that was their standard charge for alterations whether you need 1 round or 10. I had my first fitting in January, second one in Feb and then my next is booked for Monday - unless my body has changed, that will be my last fitting. So that took me a few months, so I don't think it's too early to get started

Thanks for all the advice guys! Quite nervous about my 'try-on' on Saturday now, but I'll let you all know how it goes I'm wondering if it's possible to get away with no alterations at all! Wishful thinking I'd imagine.

@Laurafish, let us know how your last fitting goes today! Hope it's absolutely perfect.

How's everybody else doing with RSVP's? We have just passed the halfway mark and I'm getting a bit anxious with the other half :/ Especially where people have said they're coming verbally but no RSVP yet. Don't want to chase yet as it's over 3 months away but a little concerned hotel rooms and things are booking up now and people might not be able to stay, and some guests who haven't RSVP'ed are coming from places that are over 3/4 hours drive away.

After a few month of feeling really "meh" about it all I finally feel excited again.

So many things are getting ticked off the list.

I bought my wedding ring over the weekend. We posted out any invites which wont be hand delivered.

it' feels very real right now.

I've lost about 3 stone since I bought my dress. It's with my seamstress and I wont see it again until Early July.

I went to an external seamstress as the store would have charged me £375 min for alterations.

My lady is doing all my alterations and adjustments as well as making a lace jacket for me for £400 which I think is a pretty good deal.

We've bought a lot of our booze and our thinking about our order of service and ceremony readings now. Happy days

I don't think I am going to fit in my dress, I need to lose probably 2 stone.

Is it with a seamstress? Could you book in for an appointment now to see how it is and then work from there. You might be surprised.
