WHOOP WHOOP! I know what you mean, we will feel rich once this weddings paid for! ha

Got to admit I did have to google that, if it works let me know, im always trying to find something for better skin. One thing I have found that's working wonders at the minute is drinking at least 2 litres of water a day and using a mild exfoliant (St. Ives) every couple of days (I have dry skin), im also going "old school" on the skin care front and using ponds cold cream! ha

    Hi Everyone,

I'm joining the July 2016 brides! Date booked for the 29th.

Everyone seems really organised. We have booked the venue and a Photobooth! We have applied to our parish church. I have seen lots of things I like but am holding off until I can get time off work to organise some more things. It's all so exciting!!

Just booked the DJ and a Photobooth as well! Slowly coming together!

Is everyone's husbands to be quite involved with the planning?

I was worried that it would all get left to me to sort but pleasantly surprised at how involved my other half wants to be!

    Hi all!

Loving all of the planning! We have venue, registrar, TOG, deposit paid on a dress (couldn't resist only went to look), save the dates, some small accessories. Trying to buy something every month to spread the cost! So exciting!!!

We've talked about it so we both know what we want our wedding to be like, I do all the research but I make sure we are both happy before we book anything. So far we have both had one thing we have said "i don't care I want that" and we've both gone yep ok (his the champagne bus, mine the flowers). He knows exactly what's going on and to be honest he gets asked more about the wedding than I do! ha

My H2B is organising everything! He's the one that wants the big white wedding. He's totally "the bride" (maybe even a bit bridezilla!!) so I'm more than happy to let him get on with it as I am really not fussed about 'the show', just want to marry him.

Yes I think this best sums up our situation too. I do the leg work but I wouldn't make any decision without him having a say too.

We were discussing plans over email at work yesterday, and I sent him our (v. long) remaining to-do list. He went suspiciously quiet after that... ?

    Hi Ladies

Are any of you thinking about your hen do yet and how far in advance are you planning to have it (if you are having one, of course)? I'm struggling for ideas because the thought of a drunken pub crawl dressed up in sashes and L plates is making me cringe.

Would love to hear your hen do plans!

    @shelly

There will be 4 of us (my closest friends) going to Paris from Thursday to Sunday before the last May bank holiday next year, our trip will mostly consist of champagne, French food and French wine, oh and some sight seeing. I think one night we are planning to get dolled up Audrey Hepburn style and go out like that, but not sure yet.

Got to say we are starting to save for it now, but it should be good.

Closer to the wedding I will have a group one for everyone at a local place where you pay about £30 for a 3 course meal and entertainment all night.

you got any ideas at all for what you want to do?

I'm having an afternoon tea with MIL, SIL's, my mum, nana and grandma and then having a girly night, possibly in edinburgh as a night out.

That sounds absolutely lovely. Love the Audrey Hepburn idea!

I've got no idea what to do yet. I feel I should do something special but also worried about the cost for everyone. I will have to pull my finger out and come up with something. Quite fancy a big girlie sleepover in a hotel with chocolate, champagne and a few girlie films and a bit of spa pampering!

Jen, your honeymoon sounds awesome! We definitely want to include New York in ours too Smiley smile

To answer a couple of the other posts -

My OH has input on anything he wants to (except my outfit) and I always show him things to see what he likes. Same as a few others, generally he doesn't actively look like I do, so it's mostly things I find that he gives his opinion on.

Hen do wise I have always wanted to go to Center Parcs for a weekend. When you fill a villa it isn't too expensive and my idea is that people can spend as much/little as they like - they don't have to come to the spa for example, but can still come swimming (which is free) and so on, so are still part of the weekend. I'm aiming for some time in May I think.

That link Jen posted looks nice too!

My OH and I look at most wedding related things together. He is interested in the big things ie. venue, colours, wedding party etc but has let my Mum and I have a look at the little things and just show him once I've found something.

Love the sound of Paris for a hen party! My cousin (MOH) is organising everything but I have said I want to stay in our local area so that everyone I want to invite is able to come.

is anyone having a theme for their big day?

@Shelly It was my MOH idea, don’t know if shes still thinking that but I’m sure Ill find out

@Laurafish, thanks, I wasn’t keen on the honeymoon idea first, but the more I look at it the more I can’t wait to go.

I would recommend that overnight spa thing to anyone if they do it local to you, we had a blast, it’s something we keep saying we will do again but have never gotten round too (plus the warm cookies on check in helped)

@EmmaB87 I’ve been to Paris before with my brother and sister for my 21st and didn’t really have a good time when we got back to London I was meant to stay a couple more days down there with them, but I paid to come back home early, I have a strange relationship with my sister now and shes not invited this time, but she can come to the one I am having locally.

We didn’t plan on having a theme, but it turns out we do have one, a giant garden party, ha, my MOH said at the weekend when we were out looking at bridesmaid dresses, and I thought, “I never even thought of that.”

    Have you got a theme?

I have no idea what my hen do will be! One of my BM's is already in planning mode for it! I stipulated I don't want it to cost a lot though as I already feel weddings are expensive for people to attend. Also nothing abroad, as some of my friends don't currently have passports so didn't want to actively exclude them. I don't really like surprises so I am not sure how well a surprise hen do will go down with me, but we shall see how it goes!!

thanks for the honeymoon flight tips, come August we will defo be looking to get booked. We already have so many ideas of what we want to do whilst we are in NYC. Smiley smile

We kind of stumbled across a theme as well. I'm going away in March and mentioned to my Mum that I was going to find some shells on the beach to decorate the tables and we are looking at blue as the colour theme so she suggested a 'by the seaside' theme. We went to a wedding show last week and there were so many things relating to theme that I'm feeling like there are a lot of things we can do with it.

Well, i just booked my hen do for next may - We're going to stay in 15 sleeper apartment in edinburgh for the weekend and have a girly night on the friday and a night out on the saturday, with lots of time inbetween for the zoo, shopping, eating etc.

    FAO jen-lou:

Forgive me for getting slightly OT on here, but my new Foreo arrived and it is awesome! I have only used it once so yet to see dramatic results, however, my face had never felt so soft and my makeup applied much better after. I still have a little bit of dry skin on my T-zone, but not as much as before. So yeah, so far I really recommend it! I think the hefty price tag will pay itself off over the years :-)

@HMM HMM will have to put it on my list of things to get ?, I saw them in boots the other day and had a little nose.

@expensiveorangestationery250 it's up to you, tradtionally they organise it for you, but in my case I've told my MOH and my friends the plan and what I want to do and my MOH told me I know what you want so I'm taking it off you and sorting it out. But someone else I know her MOH and bridesmaids didn't even bother sorting anything for her so some of her friends sorted a little get too for her and didn't even bother to ask her MOH or bridesmaids.

If you're not sure if things are already being planned, just ask or mention "ohhh I've seen (insert something) I'd like to do that for my hendo" and see what they say
