Ha Ha, HeavyMetal Maiden. I know what you mean. It seems ages away and then all of a sudden we're heading to the 1 year mark at a rapid rate. I think I will join you in the blind panic (even though I am organised and ahead of the game) lol!

We keep measuring time in the amount of paydays before the wedding - that is TERRIFYING haha

Gosh, when you start counting it down in paydays it really isn't that far away! eeekk!!

We booked a musician for our ceremony music the other day, he will also play through the drinks/photo reception and wedding breakfast.

Think we seriously now have everything booked!

Also went to primark at the weekend to get several pairs of £1 flip flops for the flip flop basket (which OH thinks is a waste of time, but as I told him ladies feet in summer in high heels can get hot and puffy, so flip flops will most likely be welcomed!!)

Right then. As I think I mentioned my wedding is also on the 16th (I'm a groom.) Have paid deposits for most things now and have some money saved between us. Very fortunately both sets of parents are happy to help with a bit of it, and we hope to have most of it paid for ourselves with the money from the parents used as a downpayment for a mortgage (I've been keeping a meticulous spreadsheet for months!)

    So far we have:

Bands for ceremony and evening, ceremony and venue fees, notice of marriage, registrar fees, cake, cocktails, food, alcohol, favours, flowers, decorations, dresses, suits, rings, stag and hen nights, cameras, thank you gifts, invites and save the dates, hotel stays and wedding insurance in hand and budgeted for, do you think there is something I've missed?

now all my fiancee has to do is go to the venue again and then map it out with what sort of decorations she wants and where (she doesn't know if she wants bunting or pom poms for example.) Getting a bit obsessed with it but I reckon it's better to do it all now than panic later on.

Hi fellow July 16 brides to be. I'm new to the forum - so firstly can I please respectfully ask what in hell's name is a TOG ?! I've thought about it for a good 45 seconds or so and nothing's springing out to me.

Our date is 22nd July in Leeds

Got the dress and venue booked

May well have the TOG - but we'll have to see!

    Ah thanks Calella and Hypochondriac.

A photographer - now it all makes sense! We were away at the weekend with friends and after a pub discussion we decided upon 'transport of guests' (to which I said - not a bleeding chance there's a bus stop outside the church). But now TOG makes complete sense to me!

Been a while since i last posted so thought i would come and say hi!

I've met up with our florist now and she was just great, has a gorgeous style to her work and its only costing £168 for my bouquet, 1 bridesmaid bouquet, 2 mums corsages and 4 buttonholes.
I've payed off my dress now too, just waiting for it to get here still.

I had a makeup trial aswell but really wasn't keen so i'm still on the look out!

Where's the time gone!?! 15 months doesn't seem too long off now, remember saying we've got over 2 years to go?.

Right I'm off to have a little panic! Ha

Ha Ha jen-lou. I'm guessing you're pretty organised like me but I'm now panicking that I should have something to panic about!

Time is certainly whizzing by but can't wait to get to the 1 year mark. We've decided to throw a massive garden BBQ party in July this year for our immediate wedding party, bridesmaids, best man etc just as an excuse to all get together and do a bit of "bridal party bonding". Looking forward to that!

Hope all's goiong well with your planning.

That's a lovely idea Shelly Smiley smile

I'm the same as you - I feel like there's something I should be doing, but I have no idea what, so I panic! My To-Do list is pretty long but I feel like a lot of it is stuff we can't really do yet.

    What's everyone's next job?

Time seems to be flying past!

The next thing for us is sorting the cake. Neither of us were overly bothered about having one but we have now decided that we are going to have a travel theme (we are both travel agents and met at work) and we have seen suitcase shaped cakes so think we are going to have that! Our table names are all going to be countries, just thinking of ideas for the centre pieces now. Our colour theme is royal blue, white and silver so shouldn't be too hard to tie it all in.

I know which dresses I would like for my adult bridesmaids but struggling with my two daughters, they will be 9 and almost 12 so some dresses I've seen will look too young but don't want them looking too much older than they are either!

Am really enjoying seeing the ideas coming together though x

Exactly, we have not get much left to sort really. A couple of weeks ago we managed to get all the fizz for the champagne bus as Asda had their 6 bottles for £25 offer on. I got their prosecco over christmas and it was lovely so we managed to get 36 bottles for £150, hopefully that will be enough.

Shelly, I agree that is a lovely idea. Its my OH's birthday the end of June so we are having everyone round for it, so think will have that as an early year marker Smiley smile

hmm....next job, not too sure, the only things weve got left to sort are

Give notice - we cant do that until after the year mark, but I can book the appointment in May

Table wine and champagne for the day - can't do that until closer to the time with the venue

    DJ

Suits - this is the OH's job, he will do it after the football season at a guess, ha

Dresses for the younger bridesmaid and flower girl - can't do that until this time next year

Hotel for the night before and night of the wedding - again cant do this until the year mark.

Gifts - i've started to pick up little gifts and get some ideas for people. Im going to make a little gift box with various bits in for my bridesmaids and flower girl and my OH.

So...i'm at a bit of a loss of what to do next, most probably pick up some accessories for me and start to look at bits for my hen Smiley smile ha.

I feel like i've missed something major and important off, but i'm sure i'll remember, ha.

What's everyone else up to then?

Great idea for a cake, have you seen some pictures of ones you like?

Yeah, I know what you mean about dresses for the younger girls, my younger 2 bridesmaids will be 10 and 7, i'm sure i'll find something suitable, will keep looking Smiley smile

Next jobs for me are sending our STD's after July, then we're giving notice on the 7th August (a bit nervous about this but don't know why lol) and in September we're ordering the BM's dresses.

I think the only thing I haven't yet sorted is our transport the wedding itself. We've decided to all travel together (with the exception of H2B) so I want to book a 4 x 4 stretch hummer but they don't seem too keen on taking a booking this far in advance so I think this may be something I stress over at some point.

I don't know what I'll do when this wedding planning is all over ... ;-)
