It's my first day back at work after a week's holiday in Lanzarote, the weather is dull and dreary and I'm already wishing the week away ... Can't wait for Saturday as we are ordering the dresses for my 4 BM's. Luckily we know what we want and they all like the same dress. Yay, another thing ticked off the list!!!

    Morning ladies!

I've been pretty quiet on these threads for a while - think I might bump the 2016 one back to the top - but I just haven't had much to say. Not much has been happening recently, even though I feel like there is loads I should be doing, I can't put my finger on something to actually do!

I suppose we should be sorting our honeymoon really, but we're so indecisive!

    What's everyone else's next job?

    @ Laurafish

It's been pretty quiet for me too at the moment and as the time starts ticking away I feel I should be doing more but it's too early to start the things that are left.

For me, we are ordering the BM's dresses on Saturday. They told me they can take between 3 to 6 months to come in so I need to order them now to get final alterations done nearer the time.

I guess after Christmas things will start to pick up and am already planning to meet the wedding cake maker in January.

We now have all our money in place and just need to pay off the last £1000 of the honeymoon so it is coming together.

Anyone in panic mode yet as the time is ticking away at a rapid rate .... ? ?

    Hey Brides (and any grooms)

So a little movement this week.

Quotes for the car (Rolls Royce Phantom)

Invites finalised and hopefully being printed by a friends company for freeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I am currently trying to find out how much wine we need to buy and which wines will go with out Afro/Caribbean menu.

Hair trial booked in for November and I think I will book to give notice at some point this week.

10 months and one week to go!! Time is ticking down quickly.

I've had a super busy week with wedding things! I'm going to make a list (I love lists Smiley tongue ):

    • * Have been chasing the fun casino table supplier, they seem to take a week to reply to my messages Smiley sad
    • * I drove all the way to Swindon on Sunday to pick up some flowers I bought on ebay. £40 for over 200 flowers, so really chuffed. They're going to form our centrepieces and I might try and see if I can get the bouquets out of them too! See them here.
    • * I sent my mum on an adventure yesterday to go and pick up 10 cream jugs off eBay too Smiley tongue She called me last night to say she was home and the jugs were lovely. Win!
    • * Made a test batch of jam last night to practice for my wedding favours. Never made jam before so we're keen to try all the recipes to make sure they'll be up to scratch before we buy all the jars and tags etc.
    • * Chased the make up people because I won a free make up trial at my venue. Really happy, but now they're not replying :/ (perhaps I'm just impatient?)
    • * H2B is e-mailing speaker hire companies to get a good price on those... We're having an iPod in the evening, no DJ or band.
    • * H2B is also working on a wooden ferris wheel for the sweeties. It's coming together well, still loads to do yet though.

Next things for me to do are:

    • * Create the fingerprint tree design Smiley smile
    • * Start figuring out what materials I need for my invites. I have a plan to make a kind of cut-out style kissing gate invitation, just need to order some samples to see what works and what doesn't.

The honeymoon lady also called me this week to say one of the hotels we want to stay in is being refurbished Smiley sad It's the one place I was really looking forward to staying in too! So I need to have a think/google on that one, because the two others she's recommended I'm not sure about.

So in short, super busy week and I still feel like we're miles away from getting everything done.

Eek! Update. I just emailed the bridal shop to see when my dress is due in. It's due early December but we agreed I would come and try it on in January, so I have booked an appointment for the day before my birthday. So bliming excited.

And literally just booked the car too!

Kay! so exciting for your honeymoon. Sounds like you have had a really productive week!!

@Leelee85 How exciting! Smiley laugh Feels like January isn't too far away now. Going to feel like a birthday treat to go and see your dress too Smiley smile Double yay for booking the car too Smiley laugh

The honeymoon issue is now solved, we managed to get a cheaper upgrade. A calendar arrived from the honeymoon lady yesterday which was very exciting (and unexpected!). My H2B has said I'm not allowed to drill a hole to put it up though! Smiley sad

My cat was surprised too. Probably shocked we're leaving him for 3 weeks!

    Brilliant photo Kay!

We havent thought too much about honeymoon yet. Just the destination. We've decided to go a couple of months after the wedding. (since we get married in the holidays).

Now I am just trying to thing envelopes in a custom size for our RSVPs and wondering if I should just make them myself?

    Hi Karen

Thank you. I know it seems daft getting excited about making the venue look pretty as it is about the two of us getting married but I just can't wait. I'm so excited to be having something so pretty!!

Yes these are the chairs we are having but the venue didn't supply them. I had to hire them in from a local supplier at £3 per chair. The venue chairs were horrid plastic ones that you get in schools so I went with the hire ones x

Oh man, I'm paying £3.25 for chair covers! I might look into hiring nice chairs if it's going to work out cheaper.

Weve only booked church and venue so far but got all the suppliers in mind for make up, bridesmaid usher outfits, entertainment, tog etc o it's a case of getting all the deposits together.

gave a dress appointment - so scared of that one!

Cant wait to hear about all of your as we go through the next 9 months!! Xxx

Bubblerawk, how did it go giving notice? It makes it feel very real doesn't it.

Welcome to the new July brides. Hope your planning is going well.

Not much for me to do at the moment. Everything is done until nearer the time. Roll on the next 8 months.

Hey guys, hope everyone's planning is going well. Welcome to the new joiners ?

We've finally booked our honeymoon - 4 nights in New York, 4 in Orlando and 4 in the Bahamas! So looking forward to it, especially New York as I've always wanted to go ?

We have a smooch rings appointment in a couple of weeks, I found a ring I really like when we met them at a wedding fair so that's looking promising.

Still need to get started designing the invitations!

Hotel rooms are almost all booked up and my hen is booked too - things are actually happening!!

    Oooh honeymoons sound great!

I'm not having one. Although if I can stretch to it I might treat OH to a weekend at Chessington.

At the moment I am back and forth with various caterers. I have just spoken to a lady who sounds lovely, but am awaiting her provisional costings so fingers crossed.

Can anyone let me know what their menu looks like I am really struggling with this and everything I come up with seems to be vetoed by caterers for being too expensive, too much work, too many options...

I was never entirely sure what my Dads job was, luckily he's retired now. When do you have to give that information? When you give notice?

i think I have decided on an Afternoon tea menu. yay!
