    @ Bubblerawk

My OH didn't know what his real dad did either. He was brought up by his stepdad since he was 18 months old. Both have died now anyway l

    @ Laurafish

Honeymoon sounds great. I've still got to sort out my Hen though. What did you decide on for yours?

    @ Chaffinch

We went for a very down to earth menu of a soup starter, pork and leek sausages with mash and onion gravy for the main and profiteroles for pud. Despite my mum saying it's not posh enough it seems to have gone down really well with everyone else we've told. My OH chose the menu and as this is probably his only input so far he can have what he wants LOL !

Hope everyone else's planning is going well. Just think that in a few weeks time we will all be saying "this year" !!! Time really will fly after Christmas ??

Hi ladies! Glad to hear everyone's planning is going well. I can't believe we are all under the 9 month mark (8 now for you Bubblerawk!).

@Chaffinch your afternoon tea sounds lovely. We are having a 3 course meal with choices but it hasn't cost us any more. It seems strange that your caterers would steer you away from certain options because it's too much work. I'm glad you've come up with an option that you're happy with.

We're off to Center Parcs for the weekend. It's something I've always wanted to do, and I'm far from a 'typical' hen sort of girl so I definitely didn't want anything with loads of drinks and partying. Center Parcs is my 'happy place' and I'm so looking forward to a weekend of chilling out Smiley laugh

Your menu sounds really tasty Shelly Smiley smile

Hows everyone doing? it's been a little on the quite side lately. Can tell it's the calm before the storm! ha ?.

Not much new to report here really. We have managed to get the prices for the wine for the day, which has turned out cheaper than we thought, but the rest of that money promptly went on a DJ. We managed to get a DJ for the full day so that saves us a lot of hassle during the day.

Ive also booked (albeit inadvertently, never look at things when you have had a few drinks ?) my hen do, roll on Paris in May.

    @ jen-lou

Wow a hen do in Paris. Fab. I've still not got mine sorted and still no clue what to do.

For the first time throughout my planning I am actually wishing time will slow down. Weeks are flying by ?

It's not working out too bad price wise, we go Thursday come back Sunday and it's about £400 for flights and 4* hotel. What you thinking of doing for yours?

I know what you mean, can't believe we are near at the 7 month mark

I know nothing about my Hen do other than the date! Lol. Its being organised by my BM and my mum lol so I have no idea what we will be doing or where we will be doing it!

I've still got to arrange to go and give notice, but need to get our passports renewed 1st. It feels like its going by too quickly now and I am pretty sure I have forgotten to do something!

    Good luck Karen Smiley smile

Jen, your hen do sounds awesome! When are you going? Mine is May 13th, wondering if our hens match like our weddings do Smiley tongue

As for me, we bought our rings last night!! ? We went with smooch, met him at a wedding fair and found a ring I loved while we were there, but it was just me and mum, so booked an appointment for him to come and show OH the selection too. Luckily OH found one he really likes that was similar to what he had been looking at, and I confirmed I still love mine as much as I thought I did! So that's another thing off the list Smiley laugh

@jen-lou - I haven't got anything specific in mind but I want them fairly simple, long and pastel pink. Other than that I'm happy to let the girls pick what they are happy with. I only have 2 BMs and they are both size 8 so I am hoping we shouldn't have too many issues finding something that everyone likes. Famous last words...

No flashes for now, I've searched the ring code on their website but they don't seem to be on there. Expecting them early Feb so will maybe do a 5 month flash or something Smiley smile

Wow I can't believe you guys have sorted your hen do's already! I am way behind. On most things!

Have you given notice yet? We've been meaning to do it for a few weeks but haven't got round to it yet. It says it can be done any time before 2 months before the wedding, but I don't want to leave it too late. My passport has expired too, will that matter? I'm hoping they'll accept other ID?

We gave notice on Friday which was quite exciting because it's made it more real again. We are also hoping to book our honeymoon this week.

Loving all of the planning! We have venue, registrar, TOG, deposit paid on a dress couldn't resist only went to look, save the dates, some small accessories. Trying to buy something every month to spread the cost! So exciting..

an expired passport does not count as valid ID, you will need to renew it before you use it, or use another form.

Been a long time since I've updated everyone. I changed jobs so have been busy at work but this week has been wedding crazy.

Gave notice yesterday. Was really nervous but was all fine.

My wedding dress has arrived so I need to make a new appointment to go and see it and pay for it.

Ordered all the envelopes, paper and card to make up our invites.

8 and a half months to go!

Hen do now sorted ... Yay! A friend is going to host it in a marquee in her garden. I'm not allowed to know all the details but there will be a hot tub, lots of Prosecco and afternoon tea. My best friend and chief bridesmaid is in charge.not sure if I should be feeling slightly nervous LOL?

Wow! I can't believe how organised you all are.

Our date is set for the 9th July 2016! Our plan is to get married in the village church at 4pm and then straight to an evening reception where we will have the speeches followed by a buffet, disco and drinks! The OH isn't a sit down kinda meal guy!

So far we have done/got the following:

    - My dress (it will need a few alterations but will look at that next year)

    - Reception Venue this includes disco and buffet (deposit paid)

    - Church (we need to fill the forms in and return with the deposit)

    - A few decorations for the reception (need loads more)

    - Flowers (OH's daughter is a florist)

    - Photographer (OH's other daughter is doing A level photography and two of her class mates will be doing them)

We have so much more to do

    Z x

It was a very productive wedding weekend for me; managed to get the BM dresses, which was an incredibly painless experience, and ordered our invitations! We're not going to send our invites until the end of Jan but they had a 20% off code on the ones I wanted so it made sense to order them now.

Next big job for us is the mens suits. I am mainly leaving it up to H2B in terms of style/colour, but I know it will be up to me to get the ball rolling... ?

    HI Ladies,

I am starting to feel quite anxious about it all if I'm honest. Even though I have a enough time to do it all.

I am going to collect my dress on Wednesday and feel so so nervous.

I've given H2B some specific things to take control of as well but a little bit of me is feeling nervous that 8 months is not a long time at all!

I'm part of the 16 July gang (theres so many of us). We're doing well got most of the big bits booked now. I've done a lot of the diy bits all ready, the most of the bits that are left are the bits my OH wants to do.

Yesterday i bought the chocolate's for the LEGO favour box's I've made as I work in a super market and they were on offer and our discount got doubled for the weekend so I bought loads and also 2 big tubs of chocolate's for trees I'm going to make (I checked all the use by dates) I also got the dads thank you gifts at work which are mini JD in a glass. The guys at work now think I'm a crazy bride as I emptyed the shelf but they love me really.

    Hope everyone's getting on

I'm at the point were I can't do anything so I feel like I'm forgetting something. The legal part is done (as in giving notice) so of I have forgotten something no big deal as we can still get married.
