June 2022 weddings

Hannah, 1 February, 2021 at 11:19 Posted on Planning 0 2
Hey!

My fiancé and I were due to get married June 2020 but obviously couldn’t get married due to covid. We postponed to June 2021 but still didn’t feel confident with things going ahead how we wanted so decided to postpone again and have now booked June 2022! My fiancé seems to think things will be back to normal by then and we will be able to have the big wedding we’ve always planned for but I’m not feeling so confident.
Are there any other June 2022 brides feeling the same? What are your plans and are you thinking of postponing to a later date? We’ve planned for about 90 to the day and 150 to the evening ?

Hi Hannah! Congrats! We have also planned for June 2022 (although this is our first date). We have secured the venue date but haven’t signed any contracts as the venue has been great and said they don’t want a deposit until we see it in person - having done online FaceTime viewings only... we have planned for 90 guests and really hoping that it will be able to go ahead - I feel quietly confident but still reserved that it may look a bit different (I.e. staff in masks, guests being vaccinated before..).

I sent a note to the venue today to ask to see the contract as I really want to start booking other bits and be in a position to sign the contract with the venue as soon as lockdown is lifted. Have you booked everything for your June date or did you just roll everything forward?

We're booked in for 4th June 2022, which is our first date. We've booked the venue, registrar and photographer so far - hesitant to book too much else without being able to get a good wedding insurance policy.

We're looking at 70-80 day guests and maybe up to 100 in the evening. I'm hoping that given everyone should have been vaccinated by September that things will be as close to normal as they will get by next year. But given how long this has lasted so far I'm still really nervous that we're going to be restricted in some way.
