I really need a holiday!

My H and I fancy going back to Kefalonia after loving it in 2002. We stayed in Lassi when we were there before and although it was great as a base for getting around the island, it certainly wasn't the prettiest place on the island. We'd therefore like to stay on another part of the island this time.

Does anyone have any recommendations? It would be great to be within walking distance of a lovely beach.

    I like the look of Kefalonia and actually thought if I go, I'll stay in Lassi?

    Can you tell me, when you went was there a problem with wasps? I've heard because of all the greenery and olive groves there's a huge problem and my Mum is terrified of them, so we'd have to avoid it if there is.

    We stayed in Lassi. Assos is nice but expensive.

    Sare, I don't remember any wasps, and my H has a phobia about them, so I'm sure I would have remembered.

    I have been a couple of times, to Lassi and Fiscardo. I definitely recommend Fiscardo, it is a fishing village, and quite a good base to explore from. There are lots of nice places to eat too. Just found this website if it helps a bit. http://www.fiscardo.com/

    I have been in May and June and don't remember there being any problems with Wasps then.

    I stayed in Skala about 5 years ago, a lovely little place right on the beach. Not a huge village but def had plenty of bars/cafes/restaurants ec. I remember the piano bar on the beach was fantastic.

    Was a while ago so my memory is sketchy, but I had a lovely week there.
