Balls is my new fave. The cats answer to Knobhead so why not have a kid called Balls.

I've heard that when you register a baby they can refuse the name. So how has someone named their kid Abracadabra?!

Versace McLatchie - oh yes and his siblings Gucci and Armani.....

They are bad but the worst is La-a which is pronounced La dash a. Just call her Ladasha for goodness sake, that's an acceptable enough name.

I think the UK is fairly relaxed but Sweden has really strict rules and all names have to be approved. You can't name a girl a traditionally male name and vice versa. It's led to people trying to get weird names past the rules - one was Lego - it was rejected.

I also remember reading about a girl called Talula does the Hula from Hawaii. She changed her name at 9 years old.

Some people never fail to amaze me with their choices of kids names. The worst I know is a little boy called Diesel. F**king Diesel. In fact the name is that stupid he should actually be called "F**king Diesel"

A girl I knew at school and befriended on facebook (until last week when she insisted on reposting those bloody Robert Thompson/Jon Venables pictures) called her daughter Precious. I kid you not. Cringe!

My H has 2 clients called Metallica, and Anywhere.

And people have the nerve to diss my youngest sons name, pah. Sadly, I have a friend who called her daughter Renesmee. Massive Twilight fan.

This is quite a common name in families of African origin - the heroine of the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency is called Precious isn't she?

I've seen quite a lot of bizarre names when working in paediatrics/GP. I have to say though, they don't bother me half as much as people who give their child a normal name and then insist on spelling it in a "quirky" way e.g. Djessycka, Dannyul etc. Or put apostrophes in unnecessarily - Cam'ron is one particular bugbear; what's wrong with Cameron?! They're just condemning their child to a lifetime of people getting it wrong on all sorts of documents and constantly having to spell it out over the phone.

I believe someone actually called their daughter Ikea - I remember it being in the papers.

Anyone remember the Harry Enfield Slobs characters? Called their daughter Frogmella Rothmans 'cos its exotic innit'.

He was an EAL student, so he may have been born overseas. Although i'd not have been surprised if that had slipped through in the UK given some of the names posted ?

One of my pet hates! The FIL of one of my friends used to be a truant officer in one of the more dubious areas of London. The best 2 names he came across were Arry and Arfer (AKA Harry and Arthur).
