I love kings of Leon and would say yes. Do you really have to do a slow shuffle like the traditional "first dance?"

Your OH is bang-on! Go for it!

Perfect 1st dance if you ask me. Love it.

Any song is danceable if it's a song that means something but as it happens this is no different in tempo to a lot of 'classic' 1st dances.

p.s It's called Use Somebody incase anyone's looking it up.

Yeah I agree - Great song! Plus lots of people are going the non-traditional route now with wedding music.

As a rule I say that if it makes you feel uplifted and the sentiment is in the right place with you then go for it. ?

Plus as far as the 'dancable' part goes, once you're surrounded by your all your family and friends on the dance floor you'll most likely just loose yourself in the moment and won't really give this much of a thought

Morning - i agree with you all - i love the song as well but i kinda imagined my first dance to be just me and H2B - think he wants to share it though as he gets embarassed so the song means people will get up and dance lol

I'm not sure why people are saying this needs/will be a song to get others dancing with you guys. Honestly, It's barely up in tempo compared to other 'traditional' choices.

You can easily dance to this just the two of you (with the traditional line up joining you on the floor only if you wanted). It is a beautiful, uplifting song and would be a cracking start to the evening.

I gave you the bestest Christmas name ever didn't I? Which makes me some sort of genius, so do as I say! ? ?

Sorry I don't think that came out quite right ?. I meant that your wedding guests will generally surround you to get close to the action and take lots of pics, not generally to join in and dance with you. Saying that, what can sometimes be nice is for the DJ to ask the guests to join in during the last part of the song. We sometimes do this is a bride and groom are a bit shy about dancing the whole way through on their own.

I think I'm making sense now.?

BWC - In my opinion - I would get up and dance if I heard this song in a bar, it starts off slow and gets going into an up tempo song. I would certainly dance to it on my own as well, i get what you mean about being just the two of you as I think its has an awful lot of meaning in the lyrics and would actually probably make me cry!

WHAT?! How can you not remember the awesome, twinkly splendour of a name like Good King Kentishlass?! You know you're going on my list now don't you? Unless you totally redeem yourself by having Kings Of Leon for your first dance ? ?

Saracroft - I'd dance to it in a bar too but Kentish was being given the impression that the guests would all spontaneously take over the dance floor whether she wanted them too or not. ?

If Your OH is a bit shy about doing the whole song yourselves, just start off the two of you, then have the wedding party announced traditional stylee couple by couple. Second song, rest of the guests invited up to dance. Always works with nervous grooms and you still get that 'just us' moment at the beginning.
