Las Vegas Wedding

Rachel148, 12 of August of 2013 at 17:56 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 1 14

Hi,

My names Rachel and I'm looking for some help about how to go about booking a wedding abroad.

Got engaged and decided on a Las Vegas wedding as we are wanting to travel from there onto LA and Hawaii for honeymoon.

We know that there will be at least 10 of us going out but I'm also looking for advice about what to do after the actual ceremony. We have decided on Caesar's Palace for the ceremony but not sure what to do afterwards.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi! Sorry, I'm not sure if it's ok posting links and shamelessly plugging a travel company, but just reading through the posts and although we got married in New York and I don't know about Vegas, we dealt with a lovely family run company called regency villas who although they specialise in holidays to florida, on arranging ours I know the owner also does lots of Vegas holidays and seems to know the place inside out so may be a good place to start in terms of some advice on where to stay and what to do etc. The website is floridaholidayonline.com and there's no info on there about Vegas but would be worth emailing or calling them - like I said, it's a shameless plug but they were so helpful to me I thought this might help you. x

    Thanks for the quick replies!

I'm still waiting for the flights to come out, getting very impatient with them. Are you booking your all seperately or through a travel agent? I've chosen my dress but need to decide what to do about suits for the men. I think my mum and dad are going to pay for the meal afterwards but need to find somewhere to have that. Not sure where to start really!

I have emailed that company also so just waiting on a reply from them, hopefully they will be able to help.

Oooh very exciting! We are getting married at the Bellagio in June next year. So far we have been a bit lame organising it -my Dad has recently passed away, l have finished re-training to be a mental health nurse, we are moving house soon and l am starting a new job so there has been a lot going on. Mind you, it is just the 2 of us going which makes it all a lot easier. So far l am thinking of booking the flights / hotel rooms if they are released soon, getting a light weight dress from Essense of Australia and find a swish restaurant for dinner / cocktails.

Where are you thinking for honeymoon?

    Hi all,

I'm also a Las Vegas bride, getting married at the Little Church of the West in April next year - CAN'T WAIT!

After our ceremony we are doing a strip tour on a Double Decker Bus, stopping for photos at the Las Vegas Sign, Bellagio Fountains and Eiffel Tower, they allow alcohol on the bus (but not glass bottles) so it will be a fun interim activity between the ceremony and our reception dinner at the Wynn buffet (we have their semi-private room booked). Check out the website: https://doubledeckerbusoflasvegas.com/

I have been researching this for AGES, so if you have any queries I'm happy to try and help out! You girls should also join theknot.com forums, the ladies on the Vegas section of the forum have been amazing, everyone comes back and posts reviews on their vendors including photographers and make-up artists ....

    Hope that helps! x

Lots of things going on, I'm sure it will all start coming together!

That strip tour on the double decker bus sounds fun!

We've had a little bit of a rethink about Caesar's Palace, doesn't seem to have many good reviews lately. Have been looking at Little chapel of the Flowers which looks pretty. Need to do a little more research about this though.

I just want it booked so we can look forward to it!

We are hoping to drive to LA for a few nights and then fly to Hawaii for about 10 nights. Exciting! Where are you going? x

I am still looking around at places to go eat so i might have a wee look at the wynn buffett, as dont want anything to fancy.

I like that double decker bus idea, if you dont mind me asking how much you were quoted??

We arent going anywhere after vegas, we are having a wee party back home the following week as we are hoping to be buying a new home as well. All coming at once! Wedding Marriage the baby can stay away til after October!! lol

    • We have paid for the Double Decker Bus for 2 hours, which costs £213 (converted from dollars at the time of payment, including card charge)
    • The Wynn Buffet is pretty good, for £48 a head we have got a package which includes the buffet price, VIP entrance (no queuing), and one alcoholic drink from a choice of champagne, mimosa, sangria or bloody mary.

It is definitely all the more exciting now it is all booked, just waiting for it to roll round now, am hoping the next 8 months will fly by!
We haven't quite finished planning our honeymoon but are going to do a 2 week road trip from Vegas to San Francisco, stopping at Death Valley, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Santa Cruz and Napa along the way Smiley smile
We are also having a party when we get back, we have about 30 people coming to Vegas but want to be able to celebrate with the rest of our friends and family when we get back so have booked a wedding reception in our hometown for 2 days after we return from our honeymoon (slightly crazy I know, but I want to have the party before I go back to work/normality ...)

I feel like I've researched just about every wedding venue in Vegas in the last few months.

I love Ceasars and have stayed there several times but although the Chapels are gorgeous for me they were too close to the pool area -I preferred the new waterfall area in the Flamingo (they have two the older one is not as secluded). Chapels on "Wedding Row" seem to all be a bit of a rip off with the photoraphy but Chapel of the Flowers does look lovely but the general downtown area outside the chapel isn't the best but presumably everyone will be arriving in limos or taxis anyway so hey !

We have finally (probably Smiley winking ) decided on a chapel in a hotel just off Strip with an Italian themed chapel - all marble and very pretty with a balcony for photos after as well as nice grounds and as a plus we can all stay there so easier for getting to the ceremony.

We're planning on photos on the Strip afterwards -I quite like the idea of dinner at Mon Ami Gabi eating outside overlooking the Bellagio fountains but another idea is to book a suite with balcony at the Cosmopolitan (again overlooking the fountains) for champagne and canapes after the ceremony.

I've also found a bakery that makes amazing and very reasonable wedding cakes to just about any design at a really good price-they even deliver to the Strip.

Maybe some of my research will help you decide

The biggest problem with MAG is you can't prebook for the patio usually They give you a pager which reaches into the casino so you aren't kicking you heels right outside but not very wedding-ey. Don't know if groups would be different though.

Wynn and Wicked Spoon (at the Cosmopolitan) are both fantastic buffets.

Sorry, I haven't been on this for a while. Your weddings all sound great. I have totally changed my mind on ours now. Want to now stay in Bellagio for 7 nights and get married in the little chapel of the flowers. Hoping to book it this week so getting quite excited! x

I originally wanted the Chapel of the Flowers and use their outside spot but then I saw *this* and changed my mind. Indoors but (you can just see part of it in the photo) an Italian style balcony for photos as well as really lovely grounds in the hotel. I like the idea of the ceremony in the hotel to avoid hair and make up disasters too Smiley winking
