Last-ditch backless/strapless bra attempt

SophieM, 26 June, 2008 at 11:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

I am planning to throw myself on the mercy of the nice ladies at R&P this afternoon and try one (well, two obviously) of these

http://www.rigbyandpeller.com/underwear-accessories/adhesive-bras/Braza_Accessories_Magicups/182/index.aspx

Has anyone got/tried them? Will I be wasting my time?

La Senza have an array of weird and wonderful things to adapt existing bras/sticky wotsits etc.

They've got something to convert any bra to a backless one, it's like some extra straps that connect on to the hook/eye fastenings.

I'm not explaining it very well but it might be worth a look?

Hhm, depends what bra size you are. I am a 32D and had a low back dress for a party and trooped round for ages trying to find the right bra. The stick-on bras did just that, stuck on and didn't really hold me in up!

I ended up getting this bra http://www.lasenza.co.uk/level3.aspx?d=1&type=112&style=697514&product=300122z&img=se08_135 from La Senza which was great.

The ladies in R&P are lovely though, so I am sure they will help you find the right thing.

Thanks everyone. PMSL at my slutty dress. It's got very thin straps and a lace-up back that goes quite low. I've also got one of those multi-way wonderbras and they are fab, but unfortunately won't work with this - I'd need to use clear straps which I hate, and the back is too low for the strap thing.

How does the La Senza one work then? Does it stick at the sides with tape?

Yep, it is basically a normal strapless bra at the front with silcone sides. You apply the tape to the sides and then bend over to place your breasts into the bra, and then swiftly press the tape to your sides. I am probably not explaining this very well, but you can't put it on standing straight as everything goes everywhere!

I've used mine a couple of times with a low-backed dress that is really cut away at the sides (don't I sound classy ?) and it has worked really well.

? Basically we all prance around half-dressed. This dress is gorgeous, I love it and I want to wear it to a wedding on Saturday (it's cut quite high at the front and is just below knee length so actually not slutty at all). I used to wear it braless but my norks aren't what they were. I'm a 32DD too so I'll give the La Senza one a try as well ?

Is one able to try stick-on bras in shops?

I took myself and my classy dress off to La Senza and tried a few on. I wasn't able to try them with tape (which is industrial strength anyway), but I tried them out for fit and compatibility with my dress.

I don't know what yours is like, but <classiness alert> my dress is very tight around the bosoms and helped hold the bra in place anyway, so I got a good idea of what it would look like.

    Good luck!

Honestly, you can't wear a bra that has straps with this dress, at all. Unless the straps are clear and I think that looks hideous. A strapless bra with a clear back might work, but I haven't seen one anywhere - ddo they even exist?

Sophie, I looked all over the shop <excuse the pun> and I didn't see anything like you suggest. The stick-on bra was definitely the best one I found.

I have a strapless bra with a clear back from <total classs> Mark One. I've had it a while ago and am not in the same norkage league but it works OK with my slutty ankle length polo necks.

KN - yes, it's too low for that, and also for the standard backless bras that go round your waist (which I find are really uncomfortable and create unsightly bulges anyway). That M&S stick-on bra is like one I misguidedly bought a few years back, which was worse than useless. Something like this http://www.lingerienewstyle.com/allproduct.asp?idProduct=34 would be the way forward, but they don't seem to be available here.

? again for all the suggestions.

Get a Nu-bra - they are fab. I think HOF sell them. Had one for my wedding (slinky backless dress) and it stayed put all day, and gave my rather petite (34B) tits a great boost!
