Laundry question - does water temperature influence colour-run?

Highlandgirl72, 4 June, 2008 at 10:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

Does hot or cold water make colours run or does the temperature of the water not make a difference? The reason I am asking is because I have a lot of tops that have white and colours on them and I don't want the colours to run onto the white.

Thanks!

Use one of those colour 'grab' sheets in the wash (can't remember the exact name but they're available in any supermarket). I use them to stop colours running into the white collar of my dark blue rugby shirt. They work a treat.

I have some polo shirts that are navy with white collars. I just gave them a couple of cold washes when i first got them to make them colourfast and now they go in with the normal darks wash and they are fine.
