I'm getting married in January & our reception will be in a pretty basic, plain looking village hall. I've hired some LOVE letters to go on the stage as a focal point, and picking up odds and ends to decorate with but wondering about maybe buying some of these fairy light trees, or 'cherry blossom trees' as they seem to be called - to put around the hall to give it a more magical, cosy feel? As we're having a winter wedding it will be dark quite early on and I think making the hall full of fairy lights, glowy and warm and magical is what I'm thinking it will achieve in my head.
Any thoughts? Has anyone done anything similar? Will it look tacky? Our hall isn't massive, we're having 80-100 people at the reception and I was thinking of 6-8 trees evenly spaced around the perimeter of the hall, with maybe one on either side of the entrance outside?
